Why do people criticize David Haye so much?

Isn´t that the norm and whats expected when you are facing the champions, that you travel to their place? When you have the belt you can dictate the terms.

My problem with Haye is, he is not prepared to take any risks whatsoever unless he is making crazy money and or fighting for a belt.

Now he is desperate to fight Vitali, when klitschko is 41 years old (!). I think it is a general consensus that up until Vitali started to decline rapidly, Haye wasn´t all that interested.

I think however that Haye is a great fighter and exciting to watch I just don´t have any respect for him as a person.

that's because he is a multimillionare, 20 million pounds ($30,000,000) in the bank

he's not a scrub like Arreola or Adamek who needs to scrabble around on his hand and knees for a mealsy few grand in loose change that the Klitschkos toss them.

    :deal

That´s now yes, but when he moved to the heavyweight divison he chose to talk his way to the title shot rather than fighting real contenders. That´s not my style even though it is the easiest route....

He was unifed champion at the weight below. Given the relative weakness of todays heavyweights he was more than entitled to his shot. Did you have the same qualms against Floyd when he stepped up to 154 to fight Oscar/Cotto?

Well he had 1 (!) defense of his CW titles, and was not unified (depending of how you view it) he did not fight for Cunninghams IBF belt. Again as a fighter I have nothing against Haye, he is great but his attitude of ALWAYS taking the easiest route whatsoever and avoiding all potential risk where possible is not my cup of tea, thats all :D .

Forget Hayes talk, just look at his results in gis first 24 fights which included a loss and see what he achieved in 4 world titles across 2 weight divisions

No he didnt, not during Wlads current title reign which is what I noted.
Read it again, what I wrote.
Peter was KOd before the final bell after losing far worse than Haye

Big difference is that in 24 fights Haye has done a whole lost more than all of them. Though I do see what you are trying to say

    How was the comp weak?
    Mormeck was the top CW
At the time Enzo Mac was a top 5 CW and WBO champ
Valuev was in the top 3 HWs and had a record of 50-1

Wasnt it Vit that pulled out against Haye?

I bet any money if Seth Mitchell was to challenge old Vitali and win, he would be praised as better than any version of Vitali and the best HW in the world etc.

Still now we know if Haye does it its a declining 41 year old

He may have talked but who was more deserving. Haye had cleaned up CW and beaten Barrett who was coming off a KO T Fields.
ITs down to the champion if he feels Haye talked his way in, fair play to him and he backed it up by beating Valuev

So taking on the top CW was the easiest route?
Having a unification straight afte winning the title was the easiest?
Fighting a 7ft 2 fighter that the Klitschkos wouldnt go near was the easiest?
Challenging Wlad and agreeing that if one Klischko pulled out they could change the fighter to the other was the easiest?

Ive known others have far easier times than that
