I think it would do him a lot of good.
He's had an extremely hectic schedule and has gone through a lot in the last 8 years. All from the age of 18

He fought 10 times in his first 2 years.

After 12 fights he was fighting guys with 24-4 records and was taking on guys like limmond and earl all within 3 years of turning pro. They obviously aren't world beaters but every fight he's had a massive target on his back. Every fight has been high profile.

Then obviously getting ktfo brutally by Prescott must have taken a big psychological toll on him. But within 3 months he was back in the ring. Then against barrera and then a world title fight.

And after the salita debacle, since going over to the us, he's had non stop big fight after big fight, including a very taxing war with maidana, losing to a drugged peterson and getting ktfo again.

That's a lot to go through for a young boxer. Its no excuse for his losses or his chin, but I think a year or so out just to regroup and recuperate mentally and physically could do him a lot of good

If Kell Brook wins a world title at 140 whilst Khan takes a break, that'd be a great comeback fight...

Kell Brook won't make 140, he struggles to make 147. Brook-Khan would be a good one to make, but it'd be at 147 I reckon.

I think he should take a shorter break, fight a few tune-ups against decent if not world-class opponents where he could experiment a little with new techniques before jumping right back in at the deep end.

No, the rest he'll have ahead of him will do him fine. Just take a couple of easier fights.

he should take a year off just from being dropped in the 3rd, the beating he took in the fourth should have never happened shame on Roach for allowing Khan to go out there like that.
With that said a year off would give him his best chance at making a decent come back

You are right, Khan is a fighter in a rush from the get go under the spot light.

I was talking to friend in depth about Khan, we were coming to agreement that due to his handspeed Khan has over looked some parts of his game due to his speed never really letting them get exposed like leaning forwards while throwing combos due to his speed he mostly gets away with it while other boxers can't do that.

This speed factor also hides other little untidy things to, Garcia exposed that, like getting over aggressive with success and leaving his chin unprotected.

Khan had to learn the hard way which is a disappointment, he missed out a shot at Floyd which in my books due to Khan's style and speed was no given result.

Khan again for me just like the Peterson fight showed lack of respect for Garcia, Khan showed respect to Zab due to his record and skill and power, Khan in that fight took his time worked off the jab and broke Zab down.

If Khan would of got to Floyd he would of shown Floyd super respect too and not jumped on like his Peterson and Garcia fights.

Khan when takes his time and not jumps in and works off the jab is a hard guy to beat for anyone.

Going back to your post, no Khan need to fight at least 2 times a year, this KO loss is something he has dealt with before and came back stronger, I think Khan needs to leave Roach and find a trainer who will tell him off in training and take no **** from Khan, a black American trainer is what Khan needs Roger or Sr because Khan needs his defence worked on badly.

Khan will be back in the ring in Dec.

that's too long. He would enjoy his social life too much.

He needs a guru and a new frame of mind.

I am not so sure about that right now, he really needs to let his body recover.

Khan should try to come back in November or December against someone like Demarcus Corley.

He should return sometime during 2013 possibly in March/April.

Gives him 6-9 months off including training camp within that.

Not only that we are talking about Khan here as well and yes its Paulie sure but he went a full hard 12 with a broken face with Cotto.
But Paulie is slick, and Khan makes mistakes and reaches too much, its probably not a good opponent for Khan right now.
Khan needs something that is going to rebuild his confidence but at the same time will allow him rounds to get in work so he can improve on things.
Paulie might be all wrong for him right now...
