He'll accomplish more than Alexander simply because he has better skills. Also in the coming years will have a more established name, not many people who don't watch boxing have ever heard of Devon. That wont be the case with Broner.

Well he's pretty hyped up now, but I think he's legit also.

    Time will tell.

The last time he stepped up, he arguably lost.
He needs to step up again, and test his skills.

A lot of hype without real substance at this point, he's beating some smaller, lesser skilled men, and beating them down.. but remember, Lucian Bute among others also did this sufficiently.

Will he get "Froch'd" the moment he steps up against a legitimate 135-140lbs'er?

Hes the definition of an hypejob.

This clown went life and death with De Leon FFS.

He's fought better guys than Ponce. Escobedo has been the best opponent he's fought so far, and he looked pretty damn good against him. Broner just couldn't pull the trigger in that fight (PDL), but he was never in any kind of real danger at all.

I agree with you that we still need to see him against a real lightweight to tell. If he clearly beats a guy like DeMarco, then I think he's for real.

LOL @ "went out on a limb." If you call every young fighter who isn't from your country a "hypejob," you're bound to get a few right. It's just like the chin-checker morons predicting that somebody will get KO'd whenever there's a fight, then gloating about how smart they are when somebody get's stopped.

His skill level seems legit. He doesn't just rush into things and seems to place his punches well. He throws a nice variety of punches whent he situation calls for it.

    :deal

Anybody that doesn't recognize what this kid brings to the table right now just doesn't watch enough boxing, I don't know how else to put it. The scary thing is, he's 22 years old, and is just going to get better. Like it or not, he's here for a long time.

I like Alexander and would consider myself a fan, but Broner is far better at the respective stages. Broner is far better defensively, he's more explosive, and just all around is more fluid and confident in the ring. When he says he was "born for this", it shows...again, it's not about being a "fan" it's just as an observer and evaluating his gifts, he's as close to a "sure thing" as you'll find.

One thing i noticed is that he fights flat footed a lot for a 22 yr old. He fights sort of like an old Floyd. So he's prone to get hit more easily. I don't know if he just doesn't have the natural spring in his legs or if he just chooses to fight stationary most of the time but if he doesn't have the legs, that might limit his ceiling.

There's also the question of his chin. Is he made of pure China? LOL.

Personally, I can't ****ing stand him, he's 22 and has 4 kids by god knows how many women, acts like an ignorant piece of **** in front of the camera and has no respect for the sport by his intentionally not making weight.

With that said, yes he's the real deal. 130-140 are pretty weak right now, I can see him easily dominating for some time...he's every talented, just needs to step up and prove it...

He's real. And I love the fact that he has a personality, regardless if it's a love or hate relationship with the fans
