Hagler vs Floyd Mayweather jnr @ 157 catch weight or 154

You had to move against Hagler and Floyd, at least at 147-154 hasn't really been a 'mover', so to speak. Mayweather also doesn't have the sort of strength and punching power to hold Marvelous off, either. If he tried to tuck in and roll his shoulders as he does against most guys nowadays, Hagler would walk through him and bust him up en route to a late stoppage, in my opinion.

 

It's easy to just plump for Hagler but the truth is,if Cotto could make a fight of it the way he did by pressuring,Hagler would come on about 10x stronger so whilst I'm a fan of Floyd,I agree with TonyGrub that the weight doesn't suit FMJ and Hagler would be too strong.

 

At 154 or 157 Hagler gets a late stoppage, I think.

Floyd's the best fighter of this generation and unquestionably P4P #1, but Hagler is far too strong. Sure Floyd will counter a lot of Hagler's flurries, but Marvin's marvellous chin would handle it fine. He would accumulate pressure, catch Floyd on the ropes and despite Floyd's remarkable defense you can be sure Hagler would land at least 1 significant blow each time, eventually wearing Floyd down to a late stoppage.

If Floyd could fight like he did at 130 at 154, I might give him a chance.

 

Great comment, I always said that He was the only one of the four, who could beat Floyd..Too strong, and like a better, stronger version of Cotto. But I have to remember, the only reason Cotto was so tough, is because Floyd stopped letting his hands fly. He was dominating, then in the 5th round, he started playing defense, and getting caught. At first, he had Cotto confused. With all this being said, I still have to go with Hagler.

 

I don't see Floyd having enough offensively (volume and power) to keep Hagler off. Floyd can take a punch but Hagler is a punishing accumulation puncher and wouldn't have to work against a height and reach disadvantage for a change. I can only see Hagler lose if he takes winning for granted, like he did against Leonard.

 

Are you talking about Hagler, Hearns, Duran, SRL? If so . They would all beat this **** out of Floyd. JMW Mccallum too and i'd favor a JMW Jackson.

 

I favour Floyd over Duran and even Leonard.

Hearns and Hagler, no.

 

Nothing to really laugh about. i dont favor him above any of them but i think he could beat Duran and Leonard. I think they are all on the same level but the size difference will come in play.
In my eyes Hearns could have won a rematch at 147 against Leonard if he could have made weight again and had they actually fought.
I would have Hagler a clear favorite but i would put some money on Floyd for the fun of it and because he could beat him.
The only one i really feel that can beat Floyd is Hearns. I dont think Floyd could ever beat him.
