yes and so does floyd.. until someone no tname pac or floyd can generate a million PPVs per fight, that's the time boxing will not need them.
I am a Manny fan, but how can you call him an ambassador for the sport? Boxer are cheating their way to victory everyday by using steriods. Since Floyd put boxing on blast, so many fighters have been getting busted like Antonio Tarvar, Lamont Peterson, Andre Burteo, etc. Here is a list of boxers that has already been caught Richard Hall - caught Roy Jones Jr. - caught (hall of famer) James Toney - caught (hall of famer) Danny Batchelder - caught Orlando Salido - caught Fernando Vargas - caught Shane Mosley - admitted (hall of famer) Tommy Morrisson - admitted Vitaly Klitschko - admitted Mariano Carrera - caught Frans Botha - caught Michel Trabant - caught Cruz Carbajal - caught Omar Nino - caught Joey Gilbers - caught Now how the hell can Pac be an Ambassador if he is in a position to heavily influence boxing to stop this cheating, while he does nothing. I like Manny, he is a good guy, but far from an ambassador to boxing. Dude holds up airplanes for hours, inconveniencing all the passengers just for him. Dude holds up boxing matches for 30-40 minutes so he could watch basketball games. Man **** Manny. He should of taken the test a long time ago. He should be taken the test before each fight to protect boxers that don't have the power to change things because that is what a true ambassador of the sport would do!!!!
Boxing is bigger than any boxer. It is true that there have been boxers who have made an impact on the sport. Including Pacquiao. They all come and go. The sport remains. To answer the question Pacquiao's time has came and gone.
No, his shine has already diminished due to in ring performance and phony personality. I wish him the best and sincerely hope he is able to enjoy his life after boxing but it's become even more obvious he benefitted from careful match making and a huge marketing push.
This. The future of the sport doesn't, never has and never will reside in the success or failure of one fighter.
Agree. It's the legacy that counts and not about money. That's why SRR, Ali, SRL, Duran are still remembered forever.
Boxing might not need Pac, but the huge audience he brings from the Asian markets and the revenues he produces are a boon.
No one fighter is bigger then the sport, although some believe that they are, once they retire they will soon see that there belief was nothing more then a figment of there imagination.
