Lucian Bute vs Denis Grachev 3rd November in Montreal

    Stylewise it is good for Bute, but the problem i see is him making the weight at LWH and then have to move down to SMW to make the weigh for a potential Froch fight. Bute is a LWH of nature and was pretty much on his way up because his body could not make 168 any more.
    Denis Grachev already derailed the Ismail Chayikh train, the question is can he derail the lightning battleship of Bute?
    You got to give Bute credit after just got raped by Froch, he takes on a guy who can punch and in a weigh class above which means he probably punches way harder than Froch. I have not seen Grachev box yet, but one thing is for sure if he connects with the right shot Bute is more likely to get KO'ed. However if the fight makes it into the final bell then i'm pretty sure Bute takes a clear decision win. This is a very dangerous fight for Bute, he struggled against another tough guy Andrade so we have to assume he general struggle with pressure fighters. So if Bute were to lose again, then i see no point in a Froch rematch. Even if he wins i think he should just stay at LWH and try to get a shot at the Pascal-Cloud winner, because a W for Bute will defiantly put him on the LWH map.
    It is very hard to predict but i will say either Bute on points or Grachev by stoppage. The blueprint is there Mr.Grachev :hey
    If we said that Bute had no name or big fights on his resume then in 2012 he defiantly showed that he is willing to step it up. The Froch fight had FOTY potential and this fight has the potential to just as much if not even more FOTY potential. I'm really looking forward to this one :thumbsup

    Give him credit for what PP? Are you serious?
    All I know about the guy is that he's had one decent opponent and was losing wide until he pulled it from the brink.I would be gutted if Froch was fighting this guy,and it's only blind loyalty that's making anyone think this is a good opponent.He could have gone for Pavlik,Rodriguez,Balzay or at least someone of that ilk.
    Good to see some Bute fans acknowledging this is a poor choice.He need a far stiffer test to get ready for Froch and I think having things his own way for so long was a big factor in why he fell apart in his first elite fight.
    With all due respect,I appreciate he needs to build confidence but he has an upcoming rematch so it's not like he's starting over.

    The fight is taking place at no higher than 170 so i doubt the weight will be an issue.

    No blueprint to beat Sugar Ray Grachev :hey But yeah it is a low reward high risk fight for Bute. But after being raped by a puncher like Froch and then take on another puncher in Grachev then you gotta give it to him. This is a underrated fight for Bute. But if he gets KO*ed again then he could retire

    Bute will smash this guy in less than 5 rounds, but against Froch he will have zero chance!

    I'm not trying to give him pelters for nothing here guys.As a Froch fan,I shouldn't really care who he fights,but for his fans,I'd be thinking "is this the right preparation for a genuine make or break fight?"
    Sorry,but I think he owes his fans better.Silakh was outclassing this guy from what I've heard.I still think he(Bute) beats anyone under Kessler,so he could have done a lot better here.And as I said,he's one of the few guys who suffers a crushing loss but still has a big fight to look forward to.

    PityTheFool, Pavlik could have been better but a little bit dangerous. Bute needs to rebuild his morale.
    Edwin Rodriguez could have been picked, yes.

    Grachev has the American boxing school and is a much better option than the European bums Stieglitz and Balzsay.
    Real opponents from Europe could have been Abraham or DeGale, real fighters.

    But probably the staff of Bute decided to fight in the light heavyweight division, don't ask me why.
    And who to pick from outside the top 5? It is much worse weight class.

    Grachev is not bad for a tune-up but I wanted Bute to try and make a statement that he still belongs there with those like Froch Kessler Ward. For that to happen he needed someone like Pavlik, Stieglitz, Stevenson, Abraham. That is what I wanted from him.
