In your honest opinion, do you think Oscar ducked Margarito???

A duck to me, is when a fighter avoids another fighter soley on the fear of losing.

Oscar by that time was fighting strictly and soley for money.

Karmazin whipped Ouma and IMHO whipped Spinks.... Not saying he would have beat Oscar, but he sure as **** would have given Oscar a much harder time than Gatti....

Regarding the topic, yes he did duck Margarito, yes he did duck Karmazin he has ducked some fighters simply because he was chasing the money. smart choice true but does not change the truth one bit, would have won true but doesnt change what he did do....

in hindsight, he picked a much better opponent but to those who are following the events back then, he bypassed a fearsome ww opponent to cherrypick a guy who has just one fight at lightweight.

 

I don't think a man who fought prime versions of Shane Mosley, Felix Trinidad, Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, Ike Quartey, Fernando Vargas etc aswell as Julio Cesar Chavez, Pernell Whittaker etc can seriously be accused of ducking anyone.

 

Fair enough, carnal. But to me a Duck is a Duck. I just hate when a fighter goes back on his word. To be honest I think he was a little intimidated after seeing how Cotto was beat down, but that's my opinion. :good

I'm not bashing Oscar here, I'm just giving my honest opinion on the matter. Many people where I'm at where really looking forward to a fight with Margo after Margo beat Cotto. Most just wanted revenge for Chavez Sr. like I mentioned before.

My thinking was, " Damn Oscar, you gotta step up now and keep your word. In your Prime you would of beat Margo but now, I don't think so."
