Ward & Broner = Hopkins & Mayweather 2.0

If Ward beats Dawson he will have nowhere to go but LHW unless he faces Dirrell or Steigletz. No need to unify with Froch since he already handled him. If he notches so big wins in LHW he may surpass Hopkins and that says a lot Hopkins in my favorite of all time.

Broner is still young but we will see soon how good he is at 135

 

Ward is already building his own unique legacy. He won the Olympic gold medal in 2004 and won the Super Six Boxing Classic in 2011. He is currently considered the consensus number one fighter in the 168 lb division and is about to fight the champion from the lightheavyweight division. As long as Ward keeps fighting - he is building a unique legacy all unto himself.

That said - the longevity of both Mayweather and especially Hopkins is not easily acheived. So will either ever achieve that sort of longevity? Only time will tell. You never know which fighter is going to be Pernell Whitaker and which fighter is going to be Mark Breland. Both skilled and accomplished - just one so much more so.
