Granted he's exciting to watch but this guy hasn't had a belt since 2003 and hasn't fought for a belt since 2004 and that was a draw to Marquez.

This guy to me seems overrated and hasn't fought anyone of legit status. He beat 2 guys who were on the downslide of their careers, one went out like a warrior (Morales) and one went out like a ***** (Barrera)

I don't see him being a good boxer, he's extremely flawed, and doesn't have much pop since he left the super bantamweight division.
I don't see him knocking out Marquez - Hell I don't even see him winning.

The thought of him going up in weight in ridiculous - usually guys who move up in weight either can carry the power or have exceptional boxing skills. He won't have either at lightweight ...

He knocked out Morales who had trouble making weight and he knocked out Solis who clearly wasn't on the elite level.

I would like to see this guy fight the rest of the featherweight division to prove himself. I don't see him tops on the pound 4 pound list nor in the super featherweight division.

    Can anyone say OVERRATED!!

All he has is the jab, jab, left hand.... No hooks, no uppercuts, and minimal head and shoulder movement.

Only thing I credit this guy with is his fast hands - but he's not the fastest in the division.

    What has Pacquiao accomplished?

When its all said and done you are measure by your championship fights. Not defending a regional belt.

Its hard enough to win a belt - people are more deserving of the pub - guys who work hard just to get a ship, not to become a celebrity.

He is caught up in his own hype and thanks to HBO we have this imposter to watch.

It's not hard to win a belt.

I dont put much weight behind belts anymore. Yeah, they are nice to have, I would imagine, but I would prefer to watch a fight that is meaningful because of the 2 best fighters being in it, instead of a fight that is only meaningful because a belt is on the line. Thats just me, though.

And saying Pac hasnt fought anybody lately is a joke. He totally dominates in fights. Seriously, he retired Morales. If he beats Marquez, then he is no doubt the man at 130 and every other weight class around it. Again, just my opinion. People are allowed to like whoever they want, but it helps if other people understand the logic behind it. Oh well. :huh

Not too many people consider him THE champ at 130.

I think most agree that this fight coming up with JMM decides that.

why don't you win a belt then...

right now go challenge a fighter for their title and see if you win --

Its easy to say it but its not easy to win one. Your opponent is just as determined as you are - will bring his "A" game and not go out w/o a fight and thats no matter who you are and what level you're on.

Umm, let me see, he fights GREAT competition, WINS, draws big crowds, not afraid to test himself, and oh yeah he has a ENTERTAINING, CROWDPLEASING STYLE

P.S. - I'm not even a Pacquaio fan, per se, but to say there's nothing great about him is asinine at the least...........

We also saw your DUMB ASS post concerning Juan Diaz.....

I think you need to check "your rag" punk ass:patsch

Pacquiao is the man because he terrorizes his opponents in the ring, smacks them back and forth like a rag doll, and is great to watch. He is everything that brings in harcore boxing fans as well as the general public. Yes, of course he is beatable, but for right now it is his time and in the future when he is no longer here we will be talking about him for sure.
