They fight every 3 or 4 days. okay format I suppose. Gives time for adjustments, though i wouldn't mind seeing them go to a modified prizefighter format
Go Ramirez. Avenal in the building! I did think that 3rd round coulda went either way contrary to what Teddy says.
The only white american boxer ive ever seen box for the USA was Danny O'Connor and some lad called Fowler who boxed over here against Ireland .
Another one bites the dust against team USA! Anyone know when Spence will be fighting? The exact time?
The scoring for ramirez was horrible,he should have won by like atleast 10 more punches, and that's being nice.
Olympic scoring is whack, but **** at least its transparent and whack scoring happens in pro boxing as well. So no real way to win. Ramirez showed a pro style, he worked on the body and even though he was getting caught he should have won. Maybe they make guys wear body armor next and have the counters tacked onto their helmets and bodies since the head gear and the gloves absorb most of the punishment anyway. somewhat like they do in fencing.
So Team USA, for a broken model has done well so far. Hopefully we get a handful of bronze and silver medals and please maybe one gold(Rau'shee we're counting on you). So should they allow pros into the Olympics since countries have some sort of payment system to keep amateurs as amateurs anyway and we(meaning the US) don't. And since we already do it for Basketball.
