Health would come first if Floyd had to face Benny.

There's a reason Benny Leonard is in my avatar. Barney Ross too.

It's never easy to come to the realization that your favrote boxer of all time in my case Leonard would get beat at his best weight.

Leonard was the rare boxer who was not just a jack of all trades in the ring, but a master of them. Pound for pound there has been no one better than Benny Leonard. In terms of skills/ability/talent. Before you say Ray Robinson was better in those regards. Keep in mind that Leonard was much smaller.

From the above you'd think I'd be picking Leonard to beat Mayweather. If it was any lightweight besides Mayweather. I would. Other than a matchup with Pernell Whitaker. The fight wouldn't even be close.

The reason Floyd Mayweather would win is that he's basicaly Benny Leonard 2.0. He's the bigger stronger faster version of Leonard. I'd give Leonard the slight, slight advantage in ring IQ, but everything I said about Leonard above can be said about Mayweather.

I see the fight going the distance with Mayweather winning 7 or 8 rounds on the cards. assumong it is a 12 round bout.

Both boxers can be hurt, but both boxers recover very quickly.

Mirror images of one another. Each guy has enough pop to hurt the other, and enough speed and skill to give the other guy fits. Both liked to pot-shot. Neither really liked to engage in the trenches unless it was on their terms. If you put 'em in the ring against each other 10 times, you'd get close fights each time. I say Floyd takes 6 of 'em, though, because Leonard was susceptible to getting dropped in a couple of his fights. And when pitting two guys who are pretty similar, that's enough to make the difference on the cards.
