Both these fighters have great careers however I have never seen two of the most accomplished fighters of the last 20 years (roughly 90's-00's) questioned more on being untested or ducking the best etc..I mean even Hopkins get respect and he fought smaller guys...even Calzage/De la Hoya (this guy never beat a prime elite fighter in his CAREER) get respect fighting expired fighters...

Thoughts please my brothers of the boxing fraturnity

RJJ has the failed drug test question marks. And the fact he took the path of least resistance other than the hopkins and toney fights and preferred to showboat against the overmatched. And a series of crushing KO losses. I'm convinced if he was european and took a similar route through a career he would be looked upon far less as an ATG.

Floyd has not fighting er, margarito and williams. and placing a drugs test demand on pacquiao. Could have been more active I guess but on the contrary I think his career will be one thats looked back upon far more positively than its viewed at currently.

floyd mayweather will be remembered as an chinned warrior who can adapt in the ring and produce his best when faced with adversity.

roy jones will be remembered as a steroid riddled, glass jawed fraud who couldn't adapt in the ring and folded like a lawn chair when faced with adversity.

C'mon man. Roy was spectacular. I don't give a **** if he was from Greenland or Tanzania. Many people here today underrate him based on his work as a washed up fighter, and based on their love for Calzaghe, who everyone with a brain agrees Roy would have beaten in their primes.

That "only because he's American" bull**** is getting tiresome.

Roy by a mile and it's only because he was in a graveyard division and his surly,anti-media attitude meant he was never going to be a crossover star.
Nothing at all to do with talent.Roy is in the same league as Ray and Floyd in that department.

There was no one like a prime RJJ.
He gets a lot of hate on this site for some reason.

Just watch his fight against Woods. Clinton Woods was a top ranked fighter, won the British, commonwealth,European and IBF titles in his career. went 1-1-1 with Glen Johnson, 2 wins of Julion Cesar Gonzalez and RJJ completely and utterly destroyed him in 6 rounds on one of the greatest clinics Ive ever seen.

Floyd could have had a better legacy if he had fought more often and not taken breaks, but the fact remains is that he is undefeated and has fought a whos who of boxing between 130 and 154 over the past decade.

I just don't get the hate for such talent.I agree he fought in a divison with no names and maybe he should've tried harder to stay at 168,but anyone who says it's down to talent and not resume needs to go outside and choose a particularly painful method of suicide.

both incredible boxers, Roy was a lot more entertaining than floyd he was so good to watch and you have to remember RJJ started off at light middleweight and won the world heavyweight title no one has everydone that before,

but floyd is unbeaten and has looked next to flawless every fight, the only dent on mayweathers career will be if he doesnt fight manny as it would truly have been his toughest test

Quite funny his speed increased substantially when he moved up, not to mention being stredded beyond belief, when at middleweight his body appeared normal

I'm saying people americans would have shat on him more if he was european. Not that it is necessarily right but to say he wouldn't have been treated harsher if was a german who'd picked weak belt holders and then suffered a series of higlight reel KO's is fantasy.

I've said before I don't hate RJJ. I just think he has massive question marks over his career that he could have easily addressed. Does he prob beat the names I think he should of fought? Prob. But he chose not to.

I find the excuses made why he didn't fight a dozen or so different top fighters
    from around the world tiresome.
