Yes he was slightly passed his best.

He looked as good as ever beating Moorer a couple of fights earlier but then poor verses Bean. Holyfield only had himself to blame the fight should have happened the year before but at the last minute he demanded more money which postponed the fight to the next year.

So one could accurately make the statement: Lennox's best win is a very close fight over a past-prime ATG he outweighed by 30 lbs?

Vitali's best win was against an 40 year old Golfer, who had a massive beer belly.

Not one boxing Pundit ranks Lewis base on his 'signature wins' he don't really have that like Ali.

The reason most Pundits rank Lewis in the top 10 is because of his huge accumulation of wins against B-A Level opposition.

    The likes of Ruddock-Tua-Prime Golota-Vitali-Holyfield-Bruno-Marovic-Grant-Mason-Morrison

You also forgot to mention Lewis won 10 of 12 rounds in the biggest robbery of all times and the FBI investigated the crime.

Defintely past his best. Which is why Lennox dominated him so thoroughly. One of the biggest robberies you'll ever see in a high level championship fight. I had it 9-3 for Lewis as did most people.

P.S. Something tells me the thread starter has never actually seen this fight.

Yes Holyfield was a bit past his prime but that fight was not a draw in anyone`s opinion other than the judges.

Something tells me he's not seen many fights, including the one that's left the most indelible mark on him.

He was sliding, however if you look at his fight with Rahman in 02 he looked like his alltime best. I think Lewis had a little to do with making him look old in 99.
