He faces Teymur Mammadov from Azerbaijan who is probably the 2nd or 3rd best HW. 6'5 southpaw who won Silver at the World championships last year at age 18.
Make NO BONES ABOUT IT ,, The cubans are profesionals ,, Ok not in the sence that they fight in Vegas on a golden boy promotion for a million dollars .. But they are employed to trainje FULL TIME as boxers ,, they do not have to work , they are rewarded with cars , accomadation and MOVIE STAR status in there country . If they make the team and are succesful they don't need the Vegas bull**** they become CUBAN SUPERSTARS . To me that makes them PROFESIONALS
Jai was very unlucky in that one,Lands a clean 3 punch combo in one sequence and only get awarded 3 punches for the last round. The kid is going to be damn good.
Within 1 point? thats awesome to hear! unlucky he was one the wrong side of the point though. must admit i didnt like his chances as much going into the fight. guess i underestimated him!! Bad luck Jai
Personally at home,he scored more punches,But at the same time he went quiet in the last 2 mins when he was on top and his opponent was very tied and there for the taking. If he had alittle more in the tank it was his,the kid is going to be a star. Ibrahim was damn unlucky aswell, again at home he landing alot more then where getting scored.
Savon the SHW was robbed badly by the judges... a gift hometown decision for Anthony Joshua, disgusting.
I was very impressed with the young Aussie fighters this morning............ both great talents despite the losses. Ibrahim was unlucky not to get the nod and the 17yr kid in the heavies just ran out of steam in last minute or so
