Definitely. You can't take anyone fighting in the late 90's who'd been in the game long enough to have fought a 15 rounder and convince me they're prime. Being on the juice stopped him from degrading faster, but he was past it.

Agreed. He was past his prime in some sense, but Holyfield had some ups and downs of excellence during that part of his career.

He was considered WAY past his prime before the first fight with Tyson, but had a great bounce back performance and appeared rejuvinated, especially compared to his lackluster fight against Czyz.

You have to give Lewis credit for beating one of the top heavyweights in the world in those two fights with Evander (I know the first one was called a draw).

You should actually start watching boxing if you want to comment on ...boxing. Good chance that you were in diapers when that fight took place.

Obviously, Holyfield was past his prime when he beat Larry Holmes and then went to lose against Bowe in Nov 92. The man won a gold medal in 84 and was the first of that american team to win a pro World Championship against Dwight Muhammad Qawi in the Omni, Atlanta, 1986. His best years or his prime was unifying the CW Division, jumping up to HW and become WBC-WBA number one contender and beat Douglas to became undisputed Champ at age 29 in October 1990. Don't forget Holyfield had several reicarnations and one was winning against Bowe in Nov 93, the other was after having heart problems, beating Mercer and being stopped by Bowe in 95 but then unbelievably winning a third HWT Championship against Tyson in 96 and avenging a loss against Moorer for another belt. When he fought Lewis for the unification WBC-WBA-IBF, he was spent by the 3rd round and just wanted to take him outa there with a one punch.

Yes. He was past prime when Don King bought the judges and protected him after Lewis schooled him for the better part of 12 rounds.

Holyfield's heavyweight peak was until 1994. He was slightly past his prime, and past his prime, in 1999. Definitely.
