The Korean said he felt embarrassed. He knew he lost. Years later he flew to Florida to give RJJ the gold medal, but RJJ didn't want it, he wanted the glory and pride of bringing home gold to his country in 1988.

I don't blame the Korean for standing and accepting a medal in front of his cheering home crowd. He didn't really have a choice, and it's not his fault. He didn't pay off the judges. If anything the situation is highly embarrassing and shameful for him too, and he knew it.

I'd imagine it's worse for a cuban than anyone too. The Olympics are the pinnacle of their boxing careers, they don't have the option of turning pro, one shitty decision and it's back in line for another 4 years of fighting your way back to another spot in the Olympics only to get ****ed again. Boxing in the Olympics has been terrible for so long now.

Yeah look on the bright side... yeah there is no real bright side. In the pros, you can get another title shot within a year. You can have a rematch clause, etc. In the Olympics its one and done. At this point, what's the purpose of the AIBA if they are going to be this incompetent? Get the big boys like the WBC in there and let them **** it up.

I feel bad for the Cuban.

I doubt you see 50 US monks apologizing to a robbed athlete:

" As Roy awaited the soonest Flight home, a large group of Korean monks and Hun himself came to Roy at his hotel to apologize for their countries disrespect to not only Roy himself, but the Olympic games, and boxing as a whole. Roy vowed never to box again, however this surely changed. "
