max baer had as tough a chin as anybody..The dozens of trip hammer punches of Joe Louis on Baer's chin still couldn't put him out...What HW fighter could absorb such
blows from the 'prime' Brown Bomber and still remain conscious ?

    Joey Maxim
    Marvin Hagler
    Kid Gavilan
    Rocky Marciano

That sounds like a good 'brick built' foundation.

    DLH also deserves a mention.

Finished on his feet, even when he was nothing more than a de-hydrated corpse.

Burt, you are right Baer took some savage flush punches from a Prime Louis. I watched bits of this fight just the other day. Incredible display of punch resistance.

Bloodyhell, Fasthands, it's been a few years since i've seen your name on a boxing forum!

Surprised nobody has mentioned Evander Holyfield. Ok, he was dropped against Bowe in the first fight but he took some of the most hellacious shots imaginable. He had hepatitis in the third fight and finished the Moorer fight despite having a heart attack in the ring. Not to mention having two fights against both Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis when past his prime and not being dropped by either.

Maybe not a top 10 shout but he definitely deserves a mention imo.

George Foreman, Ali x2, Floyd Patterson, Frazier, Cleveland Williams, Oscar Bonavena, Ernie Terrell

He tought them all, 93 pro fights, and never knocked down, amateur, professional, in training? How is he overrated?

Knocked down twice, stopped out on his feet, switching to spoiling/survival mode when hurt. Vastly overrated.

Still, not being knocked out is a pretty good reason for people to consider him having one of the greatest chins in history.
