Stop with this "all sports are pointless" BS.
Sports and entertaining, healthy and fun.

Watching sports has good health benefits. Each time the team or boxer you're rooting for wins, your testosterone rises along with theirs

I'm not even a big DANI fan but kept getting boners for no reason after I predicted he would pull the upset stoppage victory

Tell him to stick to badminton, a real sport with a real point which is (thankfully) in the Olympics.

Then all sports are pointless because boxing/fighting is probably the most purest form of competition. People have been fighting since the beginning of human history. Which sport is more sensible?

All sports are just silly games. People get so riled up over nothing. Theyre just for entertainment. Boxing however you have to be crazy to do. You eiyher gotta have some serious balls or be really dumb to choose boxing over other ways to support urself and family. Hearing about boxers going broke and having to continue fighting to just earn a way of living. No retirement plans. No protection for the fighters. Thats why i dont really care if they wanna make 'good business decisions.' Theyre the ones getting hit in the head, so i have no ****in say whatsoever. Im just a dude who sits on his ass watching two guys fight. Nothing more, nothing less.

Boxing teaches you valuable life skills. The number of times you will have to throw or kick something will be minimal, and its import in your life will be less. However being able to punch someone in the face, and avoid punches can be invaluable.

I would tell this person to study history. Boxing is, in one form or another, an ancient sport with much historical importance. Boxing is more than a sport- it's cultural and helped shape history. Especially in the development of 20th century America in areas such as race and industry. I would direct this person to the paintings of George Bellows, the writings of Norman Mailer and Joyce Carol Oates on the subject.
