Anybody sense some hometown bias in the Olympic boxing judging ?

A few apparently dodgy decisions have been rendered in the boxing competition.

Is it a minor issue, a major issue or not an issue at all.

    Vote and discuss.

Hometown my ass. It's all over the show with the weirdness. Many nationalities have benefited from the AWFUL judging.

Weirdly, the women's hasn't produced such horrible results so far.

True, but some would contend that the hometown lads have been the biggest beneficiaries.

It's still early days for the lassies, and there's less at stake.

    Sense it?

I'm seeing Brits dressed like Derek Chisora, with gun in hands, all over the place. They're robbing these poor visiting fighters blind.

It's a total embarrassment really. Every other Olympic sport - glowing triumph. Boxing? Terrible embarrassment for the pariah of the sporting world. Yet again.

I swear to Christ if we fell into a river of gold we'd come up with a turd in each hand.

I guess the Amatuers and Pros alike, echo each other in terms of judging and refs. Fortunately for the Japanese fighter Shimizu, he got his decision overturned after his team appealed. I mean how can a fighter get knocked down six times, and one, be allowed to continue, and two, not receive a standing 8 count on 3 of the knock downs, and still get awarded the victory? These muthas ain't even trying to be slick about it!

It's certainly worrisome, to say the least.

Almost as worrisome is the collapse of the Americans.

Two consecutive Olympics where they do nearly **** all and then, **** all.

With the Flagship nation of boxing having stopped producing amateur talent, daft scoring at the Olympics, some very strange decisions (robberies) in the professional arena and the rise of MMA, UFC etc, is the future of the sport on shaky ground ?

People seem to be shocked by it. It happens in virtually every boxing show (whether it be a club show, or a competition) that takes place week in and week out throughout Britain. Judges ****ing boxers over all over the place.

It's really basic incompetence than any "hometown" favoritism.

But I can't really feel sorry for USA Boxing, they chose to put incompetents in charge of their boxing program.

I think maybe De La Hoya could step in and straighten things out for the next Olympics...anything would be an improvement.:-(

Did anyone see the disqualification of the Iranian in the same session?
