that would be a credible opponent in my mind. I would like to see him put in more than 4 rounds in a fight but the thing is he does have legit power in his right hand. I remember people wanting to see Cooney go rounds but he kept KOing everyone and you can't fault Wilder for that. When you have someone hurt you finish them. Wondering if he can get on some ShowBox type cards? That would help for sure.
He's not the next heavyweight champion. That's Seth Mitchel. However 4-5 years down the line. He'll be champion.
I wouldn't exactly put my faith in the kid, but I have been surprised before. Because of Wilder's easy-peasy list of opponents so far, I can't call it. But he does look impressive against those bums. That's all I can say right now. Take it how you will.
Wilders future career: put him on FNF against bums, hype him up, put him on an undercard on HBO against bum, hype him up even more, Put him on a main event against a cab driver on HBO, hype him up even more, Titlefight gets KTFO.
Wilder fights 6 times a year- so two more this year- makes 26-0 2012 N. Pajkic 16-1 - lost last fight but decent record fought Fury S. Cunningham 24-4 - lost last two but former cruiser champ 2013 M.Barrett 35-10-2 - lost his last fight but gatekeeper who is old A. Lepai 25-4-3 - Lost his last fight but decent T. Fields 49-5 - Big tall, big pucher but a journeyman M. Grant 48-4 - Former title contender getting harder in term of opponent for wilder D. Guinn 34-9-1 - never been knocked out former prospect J.M.Mormeck 36-5 - Former cruiserweight chmp this would be a decent run...test him get the rounds in, ready for top 15 guys in 2014.
This seems like a decent, though conservative plan. - But I have to raise the same point as so many times before: Why would any of these guys agree to face Wilder? They would have to be offered serious money. Basically, "retirement" money, and Wilder's management & promoters don't seem willing to do this. Certainly not up to this point. Odd, because Shelly Finkel has a pretty good track record of making big fights happen. Then again, Golden Boy hasn't exactly been changing the boxing world as we know it. Are they even still "promoting" him? GBP signed Wilder like 4 years ago. I don't think they've done a bloody thing. Wilder's website hasn't even been updated in over three years! Wilder needs new management, end of story. Maybe TMT?
i think he is doing the right thing, my question is manswell fought Alexander Ustinov , Ruslan Chagaev,Cedric Boswell, and Bermane Stiverne and wilder stopped him faster then all that i mentioned. But he gets **** for it, how come these guys didnt get the same ****. not that i dont agree he shouldnt fight someone higher in the ranks but he is fighting some of the same ppl that the guys that i have listed have, and beating them faster and more impresive
i think he gets undeserved hate, and i agree with his trainer when he said if he was 24-0 16kos he wouldnt get **** so much. he is beating these guys really easy so he does have talent im just wondering if that is the reason he gets **** on alot. But i do agree that he needs to step up a bit but i noticed alot of similar names on his resume as the guys i mentioned above only that he stopped them way quicker i know i kinda repeated the same thing but it has been a question that i have been wondering about he fights the same ppl beats them faster but gets **** its weird
really i hope somebody can anwser this for me. i can name several common opponents that he has had with other fighters that get praise all the time on here
