How do people rate Dawson's power? Does he have enough to keep Ward wary? Dawson needs a KO to win in Ward's backyard, I see Ward winning a wide decision, shame the odds are so terrible, 4/6 with bet365 for Ward to win by decision :-(

Bad Chad has got power. The question is, can he land the big power punches on Ward?

I don't know what some people's deal is .I know have been guilty of bias at times but dam a fight like this is what people want and when they get it you still get some clowns shitting on it ! Im very concerned for Ward in this based on what I have seen from Chad helooks motiviated as hell .The weight does bother me for him but these are the 2 best guys at their perpsepctive weights going at it ...This is going to be a very solid fight ! Two technical masters at work with the ability to turn it into a brawl !

    Little bit of irony there.

For those unaware there is no Super-Middleweight in amateur boxing.

Dawson is not a P4p'er. Pascal beat him up :nut

like Pascal is a bum. If Pascal had beat Hopkins, he'd be P4P rated.

I'm so pumped up for this fight. This is by far the best fight on the calendar, imo. Everyone can lament the absence of Mayweather/Pacquaio, but this actually is a better, more competitive bout between two guys in their primes rather than past-it bigger names.

It most probably will be a very dull tactical affair with lots of punches not being thrown. A poor mans version of Leonard-Benitez.

One can only hope Ward throws a couple of his patented long-range flying headbutt so things will be rough.

I will definetely watch it as I often like these technical affairs, but I surely don't expect to sit on the edge of my seat.

I agree that this is a great matchup. Hope Dawson knows what he is doing with the weight because I would hate for this fight to be less than it can be because either guy was disadvantaged. It does seem a little unfair that Ward gets to have both his natural weight and home advantage and that's a shame. Props to Dawson for making it happen, though.

Dawson hits harder than his record indicates, his problem being he has been in against guys who simply don't get stopped. In eight of his past 10 official fights, he has failed to notch a knockout.

However, those eight fights came against Hopkins, Diaconu, Pascal, Johnson, Tarver and Adamek.

Those six fighters have combined for 273 career fights and 1,905 rounds. With all those bouts, the only two stoppages were Johnson at the hands of Hopkins 15 years ago (accumulation stoppage), and Adamek versus Vitali at heavyweight. Just 2/273 ended in knockout defeat, so Dawson has been in against iron chins.

He did get rid of his two C opponents in <6 rounds, which may be a little better indicator of his power. Dawson obviously isn't a dynamic puncher, but he's pretty strong at 175 and, if he makes weight okay, may enjoy relatively more power at 168.

Sure, but this fight is being waged for legacy more than pure action — and I think it could be a little more exciting than you think.

Sure man. Because he'd come clean and say he has trouble coming down if that was the case right?

    Not.
