:huh I'm Welsh and this post is pathetic! Do you really think ****** would put Cleverly in with a top quality opponent!?
Americans learned to face other Americans for fame. Boxing is full of politics, so hype jobs like Dawson, Pavlik, Ward etc get fame from fighting each other with little risk and the American public lap it up and place praise where none is warranted. We all saw how easily a shot, bloated brittled boned jet lagged Calzaghe did in the backyards of two of America's greatest ever, this hasn't gone unnoticed, Americans fight where they have advantage and cherry pick shot fighters or other hypejobs. Cleverly would probably shatter Dawsons glass jaw, and would certainly shatter Wards, so why would they risk their career to be exposed this early? Expect Ward to be served bums like Green, Dawson, Pavlik and Dirrell for a number of years yet. Before anyone mentions Froch, Froch was the slowest ever SMW when he faced Ward in Wards hometown, it was also a dreadful performance that was still competitive, jesus if Bika and Boone could beat Ward, imagine a live opponent.
Brilliantpost Anglo. I couldn't have put it better myself. It restores my faith in humanity to see posters of your ilk who refuse to be brainwashed by HBO/Ring magazine propaganda. No doubt trolls will come in and hurl insults as that is their only weapon when they know that they have been absolutely bamboozled via irrefutable facts. atsch
:roll:atsch Case in point. You have no comeback to my salient thread, therefore you resort to childish insults. Why don't you actually debate for a change. :-(
What has Cleverly done to warrant a shot at the champion of the division? He's beaten a bunch of club fighters.
Let's duck a belt holder @175 to shred 7 lbs and fight a superstar in the weight division below.. Makes sense..
Here's a clue for you, son: Anytime a fighter moves down a division to fight an established PfP fighter in his hometown, you do not get to accuse him of ducking. No one should have to explain that to you, and I won't try.
he's not waiting. frankie is in negotiations with hopkins' people. pretty likely to come off & pretty likely to be in the uk from what i hear.
:rofl atschDe la Hoya was pound for pound when Hopkins fought him, and Hopkins rightfully doesn't get much credit. I have just blown your theory out of the water. You need to do better than that minion.
No, he is not. If Cleverly fights in the fall, it will be against Hopkins. It's either going to be Hopkins-Cleverly or Hopkins-Shumenov.
I have just checked, DLH actually sportingly dropped himself out of the rankings to make way for Glen Johnson after Johnson shattered Jones' Glass Jaw. DLH was still a top fighter, albeit blown-up, so my pertinent point still stands. :deal
