A lot of American fighters and fans seem to think they have a good given right to be the home of boxing, have the best fighters, win all their fights and take all the belts/ medals. If not they get stroppy and don't like it. I'm pretty sure this is how American football, baseball and basketball came about - they didn't like losing at rugby, rounders and netball so they made up their own versions and only played amongst themselves - that way America ALWAYS wins!!!
They need a proper program , they need to start scouting schools , neighbouhoods , juvenil prisions , etc . You don't want a marine who's been boxing for 2 years in the Army to represent USA in the Olympics . It HAS to start anew , finally ..... they need CUBAN COACHES to work in that program like most of the emerging nations are doing ( India , UK , Irealand , Jordan , France , Mongolia , China , ****stan , Spain , Argentina , Venezuela , Brasil , Guatemala , etc ) . They have to start from the begining . Peace .
Also I have to say, I'm loving this new 'well xxxxxx would beat that guy in the pros' attitude. :rofl
No man , there's a lot of talent in the States , they just have to develop it . A proper boxing program , from the bottom up . Peace .
The last two times rugby union was played at the Olympics in 1920 and 1924, the Americans won gold. American football (and Canadian football) came about for the same reason rugby league came about, it's a code split. Ours was just dictated by distance from Britain instead of enforced amateurism rules. As for baseball, I wasn't aware the British had a national rounders team. But we used to be good at cricket (the reason our national leader is called a president is because George Washington said "if president is good enough to describe the head of a cricket club it's good enough to describe the leader of this country"). It only went away due to the snobbish arrogance of cricket clubs not embracing the masses and baseball was therefore followed by the working class which made that game far more popular while cricket never wanted to go beyond the upper-class, combined with when England, Australia, and South Africa founded the Imperial Cricket Conference they banned anyone not in the Commonwealth from being members to keep American influence out of the game, and these two things combined condemned the game here to its death. And basketball was founded before netball was. In this here, netball is the American football and basketball is the rugby union. But if you want to continue being ignorant, go ahead. It just demonstrates the general lack of intelligence of people on this board of all nationalities.
Well 19 champs says its true. Although Degale could make it to opponent status if he can stop getting thumped around in the backwaters of europe.
So you admit you're full of **** then? Fair enough, at least you're honest that you're an idiot, but that kind of crap on here is what makes me think most boxing fans that at least are on the internet must be ******ed because I've yet to discover many people here that are sane and can make a coherent argument. You just spouted whatever bull**** came to your head because you thought it was funny. If you want to be pick on someone, hey that's part of being on a message board, but you opened yourself up to getting creamed on all your points to where you now are the one getting humiliated instead of the U.S. Boxing team as you intended.
So you genuinely interpreted that as a serious post atsch Do you have asperger's syndrome? :rofl:rofl:rofl ****. Me. What a nob. I bet you're constantly being invited to parties aren't you . . . "Coming to the party on Saturday night? Bring your mate Ryan, you know, the one who went off on a five minute rant about the inaccuracies of that knock knock joke." So, let me get this straight: in a forum where people like to wind each other up and have a laugh, you come into a thread and start going off about the historical inaccuracies contained in a joke post clearly intended to have a bit of a laugh with other posters . . . and you're claiming that as some kind of victory? :rofl This is probably one of the most unintentionally funny things I've read in a long time. So what you're basically saying is 'if you want to make jokes that fine, but remember - there's losers like me around who'll come and verify if what you're saying is 100% accurate, and if it's not then I'm going to claim to have humiliated you'. That's cool. Well done :good
They need to copy Ireland and Britains approach and set up a high performance unit, over here there is 2 sometimes 3 boxers on funding in each division who train 4 days a week in Dublin and get paid.
