I honestly think Cotto would fare better against Pac at a 154 rematch...

a Cotto nuthugger... Probably the furthest from it on this entire board. But I think Miguel would do a lot better this time if he were to fight Pac at 154. Couple of reasons.

    - This would be much closer to a comfortable weight for Cotto. I'm not trying to say he was weight-drained against Pac but he was definitely not as comfortable as he would be at 154.

    - I don't think there's any doubt Pac has declined some in the past 2 years. I won't get into why, but he seems as though he's on a permanent slide.

    - I think Cotto as a fighter is a much more confident fighter than he has been. He's over the Margo beating, and put on the best showing of anyone recently against Floyd.

    - I think just having been in the ring with Pac and faced him, he would be able to have a much better gameplan, not to mention that I think hs corner is a little better this time around.

All in all, I would look forward to this fight. And I would give Pac a lot of credit for coming out with another victory. What yall think? :think

He has a little better movement, but he still eats uppercuts like arroz con pollo.

I think he would do much better, as in lasting the full 12 and making it more competitive at the higher weight.

One thing that has impressed me greatly about Cotto since his teaming with Garcia, is his footwork and defense. Both would be key against Pacquiao. If you stand in front of Pacquiao and offer him a target, he will take it. Offer him some good lateral movement and a solid defense/hand placement, etc at this point in his career and you can make his offense much less effective.

Competitive bout, but I would still favour Pacquiao.

Agree, this is why Pac won't fight him at 154..He tried to brawl with Manny not apply smart pressure..

Agree with what one earlier poster said about PAC taking a random test for the rematch

I agree but Pac has no place fighting at 154. I dont think he can fair up against any fighter at 154 (no catch weight involved). He should stay at 147 and stop with all these catch weight fights.

Aside from confidence, Cotto looks much better under Diaz both stamina & technique wise.

I think Pacquiao's dynamic punching and angles would still give cotto massive problems. He still plants his feet before he throws.

Cotto looked better in his last two fights than Pac did. I'll take my guy Cotto at 150 or above for exactly the reasons you state plus his improved footwork.

When you take a beating like he did at 145 it would not matter what weight they fought at , Cotto would not want to engage.

sure he would, at 154 he is physicly so imposing, pacquiao would still beat him, but it wouldn't be as easy as the first one.
