Who do you think potentially will have the biggest upside as a pro? I think Evans- been very impressed with him this tourney and his style doesn't just seem to put fully "amateur". His head movement and southpaw stance will fair him well (if he can keep up his concentration!).
yeah fred evans does have a great style his counter punching would be great in the pros. Im sure Andrew Selby is going to go pro like his brother
Evans is very impressive, Campbell is a lovely boxer but at 27 would have to get a move on. Campbell i'd expect to do very well domestically if moved along quickly due to the weight class being quite shallow in depth. Evans though has just got that edge about him that i like, I think he will adapt really well to Pro ranks and go a long way if as you say can keep concentration which is a worry by way Woodhall speaks. Big Anthony has a way to go but i don't see why he can't have a good pro career domestically and with his mentality and willingness to learn he could well improve. Ogogo may like the pro ranks, He's a lot more aggressive then i thought he was as a fighter. There's nothing overly special about the lad IMO but he digs in and is willing to let his hands go. Can't see why he couldn't have a decent career at domestic level and see how he develops over time. I haven't seen Stalker bar odd clips, Selby is a nice natural boxer kinda reminds me of Dale Robinson and Damaen Kelly where he boxes well but doesn't have the power i think he could win British/Commonwealth and maybe European titles. He could well do well as a pro but he really needs to put more zing on his shots if he wants to contend at world level. I love this forum but we're awfully quick to right lads off, I've done it many times in the past and reading the Olympic thread many seem to be doing same. So be careful anyone who may do so :good..
all should get to brit level, which is achievement in itself IMO. Does Evans have stamina issues???? Ogogo chin seems shocking from ive seen. not sure any of them can make impact on world stage but its very early doors for the pro game so we shall see
Selby is a really good prospect. We didn't get to see the best of him in the Olympics because he was drawn against arguably the most impressive fighter in the whole tournament. Joshua could go either way at this stage. He has talent but he's still very raw and IMO may be best off staying amateur for a bit.
Joshua now that the Olympics has finished. But he lacks personality, far to many boxers are just to simple. He seems abit monged out, in all of his interviews..... Boxing is a sport which demands personality, and marketability.......to ensure success.
Evans reminds me a bit of Frankie Gavin. I think he's best suited to the pros. Campbell has something about him, boxes fluently and I can imagine him doing good. Ogogo's style is 100% amateur. Just keeps his gloves glued to his head so the opponent doesn't score, I'd like to see him get his head up a bit, relax and see the punches coming to slip them to counter and move around a bit better. He certainly has the athleticsm to do that and has a big heart. I'd like to see him go with someone like Tibbs and see how he develops, definite potential imo. Joshua is too easy to hit and flat footed. Again like Ogogo I'd like to see him with a good trainer to get the best out of him. Haven't seen enough of the others... Oh and Luke Campbell needs to do some heavy squats his legs look like they carry no power at all.
So what we reckoning? Joshua to Frank, Ogogo to Frank, Selby to Matchroom, Campbell to Matchroom, Evans to Matchroom, Stalker to stay amateur?
Selby reminds me of Naz -World Champion Campbell bit like Andre Ward - World Champion Joshua like a big Frank Bruno - World Champion Fred Evan - World Champion Ogogo like Khan - World Champion with an off switch
Anthony Joshua all day long, he is a heavyweight. Campbell is good but I can't see him being exciting as a pro so after an initial buzz (like BJS, Jeffires etc) people will get bored. Evans and Ogogo fight at popular weights so maybe them too.
