Luke didnt look very good but tit was his first contest. He seemed very one paced but thats the only time I have seen him so dont know if it was just nerves or if he is another boring backfoot southpaw
Campbell turns 25 after the games, still young enough to do something in the pros. I question his style weather it is suited for the pro game though. But u never know. Ogogo has star quality but prob isn't he best boxer. Confident talker, decent boxer, tough, and a decent looking lad. Promoters could do a lot with him
Agree, too much quality in the division and he hasnt the time to wait until they retire or move on to world honours. Win or lose Joshua I think may do well in the pro's given he's only been boxing 4 years and he's still young so has time on his side.
the italian luke boxed last night beat the cuban world number 1 just 2 months ago, he narrowly lost against the cuban by 2 points in the world championships and he beat nevin in the world series of boxing not so long back, i dont think people are giving luke enough credit for his win last night, tough fight for his first one with nerves an all. i think he would do well in the pros he boxes to win as a am ie counterpunching point scoring but he is stonger than people think and can dig in, ask woodhouse whos been sparring with him
Campbell is totally suited to the amateur game, he shouldn't turn pro in my opinion. If Stalker did turn pro i would assume he would train at Gallaghers gym and he is friends with the Smith Brothers. Sure he has trained at the gym already as well.
I think this crop has a decent chance of pro success not sold on Ogogo but I think he might do well as a pro. I like the look of Selby and there is clearly pedigree there. No idea about how Evans would do but have a suspicion he might do okay in the pro game as well.
some GB lads seem to have had a bit of a 'helping hand at some point' apart from luke which in both bouts i think they have been very harsh on him, i had him about 11-6 up after 2 rounds against dakliev
Audley Harisson was close to 30 when he turned pro. Proof that it's never too late to make it as a world class boxer
any one change their mind on this? thought campbell boxed superb thoughout, against the bulgarian and jap he had to box on the inside quite alot seemed the stronger especially against the jap who wore his previous oponents down in the last round campbell coped well, in the final he show cased his excellent boxing skills especially footwork timing and accuracy hes a very sharp puncher and moves and tucks up well. i see a big future for him
Chad Dawson is one of the best fighters in the world pound for pound, but he's not a big selling fighter. Ogogo is no great shakes, but he will do well through correct marketability and fight promoting. It's not about being out and out the best. Sometimes when you are too good, this can decrease you're marketable, glaring strengths and extreme flaws & personality build excitement and attractions.
Young Evans for me is the real deal in the pro ring ... for those who said Ogogo you must be joking !!
