It is all about how much stock you put in each era.

It's not outrageous for people to strongly disagree with my opinion, but I do think it is outrageous for people to make it sound like there is a general consensus among anything HW other than the top 2 being the top 2.

And really? You think that Lewis is so much better than Foreman that it is worthy of telling me to STFU and a laughing smiley face guy? That immediately makes you void of any credibility, my man...

You think because you try to appear unbiased and calmed it'll give more credibility to your posts or something, and give you a free pass to write any rubbish you want? Because it doesn't. It's the same strategy other terrible posters like Jack use, and it's seen from miles away.

Now, since you picked Foreman in particular, give us your explanation as to why he's greater than Lewis, please

You can't build up theories and search for patterns on bad referee calls and one time deals. That's how biases are formed. Lewis payed the price for not being well prepared, especially in the first Hasim Rahman fight. But one thing he did and did great is to prove that those loses were just accidents. It's like in horse racing: one loss is acceptable, two is a bad habit. Lennox proved in style that when he's in form and comitted to the fight he can come out with one of the most technically briliant KO's in the history of boxing.

If you are searching for slip ups, yes, you may find some in Lewis's career. But if you're looking for talent, skill, shots and overall greatness you'll find some of that too. If you choose to judge a boxer for it's imperfections and choose to always remember the most lazy and unprofessional side of L. Lewis, well, that's not quite noble of you, if you know what I mean. For me, Lewis at his best, is a top 3 heavyweight material. So what he was knocked down (knocked out vs Rahman) two times against B level fighters? What does that prove, other that boxing always finds the way to punish you for not taking a bout seriously enough? It proves nothing.
