Official: Vasyl Lomachenko is turning pro after Olympics!!

Vasyl was physically the smallest fighter in that 60 kg(132 lbs) class in the amateurs. It is not unlikely he would ever crpss paths with any of the other fighters in that weightclass as professionals.

He is a special talent and should have his pick of any promoter but I have a feeling that many potential promoters are giving low-ball offers because they see him as being potentially difficult to market. If the U.S. or UK. had a fighter like him the professional contract offers would be unprecedented.

 

The vid does not play for me. How are they making fun of the Klitschko's?

Very ignorant of them if they are being disrespectfull. Especially considering what the Klitschko's have done for their country.

I think Usyk is just imitating the way that Vitali would shadow box, you know the way he holds his hands out without bringing them back in. Just having some fun, they are friends with the Klitschkos.

Something else that I have not seen addressed, is Vasyl's relationship with his father/trainer. They are obviously very close and have been working together since he started boxing at six years old. What concerns me is that most promoters may not want Vasyl to be trained by his dad as a professional. On almost all occasions promoters want to assign experienced professional trainers to work with their new charges, especially when from Eastern Europe.

This would not be an issue in the new AIBA organization.

 

Vasyl's father helped coach the national Ukraine team. His track record doesn't lie and Lomachenko would never be trained by anyone else. I honestly don't think any promoter would give a **** about that, they'd just be happy to sign Vasyl. The Lomachenko's will be basically dictating their conditions for the pro career, if one promoter doesn't like something it'll be onto the next one.

 

Hopefully he signs with Goldenboy and they can get him some air time. Boxing needs some more big names out there and hopefully this kid can be another top name.
