I cant remember a time when we had such a feast of top notch matches ahead of us.

At middleweight we have the legitimate champ facing off against one of his top contenders in a blockbuster. On top of that we have two other significant matchups between world ranked fighter with Gennady Golovkin vs Grzegorz Proksa and Daniel Geale vs Felix Sturm. Each one of these fights has the potential to produce two way action and fireworks.

We have the number one super middle squaring off against the number one light heavy in a fight that may lack action but should be intriguing from a tactical standpoint.

In tyson marquez vs brian viloria we have a matchup between two of the best little men in the sport both of whom can puch and have a history of taking part in entertaining scraps.

Nonito Donaire steps in to face what i believe to be his sternest challenge to date in the ultra skilled toshiaki nishioka in a meeting of two of the, if not the top two super bantams in the world.

Ricky Burns takes on Kevin Mitchell in a huge British domestic clash which will also have a huge impact on the world scene at lightweight. I think this is a tremendous matchup which will likely feature tremendous action.

On top of this we will see Saul Alvarez in action against a determined and in form Jesesito Lopez coming off his best career victory.

P4P puncher Johnny Gonzalez looks to continue his knockout streak against fellow heavy hitter Daniel Ponce De Leon in a fight between top ten featherweights.

Lucas Matthysse meets Ajose Olusegun, Randall Bailey meets Devon Alexander and Brandon Rios meets Mike Alvarado in significant fights at 140. Matthysse/Olusegun and Rios/Alvarado both have fight of the year potential.

As does Marcos Maidana vs Jesus Soto Karass. Maidana may have had more success at world level but i dont believe that he will have an easy night against karass. This should be an all out war.

Arthur Abraham meets Robert Stieglitz in a super middleweight clash which should be good to watch and will be a massive event in germany.

Danny Garcia meets Erik Morales in a rematch which seems a little unnecessary but will likely be fun nonetheless.

Also in action are Vitali Klitschko, promising heavyweight David Price, Kell Brook, Antonio DeMarco(in an interesting and fun matchup against john molina), guillermo rigondeaux and prospect carl frampton(in his toughest test by far against former titlist Steve Molitor.

Abner Mares vs Anselmo Moreno is rumoured to be in the works for late october also.

All this in a period of a little over two months.

    Im pumped.

Anyone care to add anything iv missed? What does everyone think of these matchups? Which are you most looking forward too? Would we be naive to take any real meaning from this recent spate of fantastic match making?

JCC Jr. vs Martinez is the only fight worth seeing.

Damn, on top of the obvious headliners and the undercards, we got a slew of other quality P4P fights!

I suspect VCash numbers to change quite a bit over the next few months.

This is a stacked couple of months. I'm so stoked for all the upcoming fights, many including my favorite fighters.

It's great to see Andre Ward back in action, and I'm going to the Nonito Donaire card live with friends. The Rios/Alvarado co-feature should be amazing -- and it takes place in the same ring as Vasquez/Marquez III.

IMO, that won't even be the fight of the night...De Leon-Gonzalez FTW. :good

I didn't go out on a Saturday night for about two months back then. Looks like I won't be for these next two months, either.

wow, late 2010 was a good time to be a boxing fan. I had forgotten about that line up.

Also worth noting is that moreno v mares has indeed been made official. What an addition to the schedule. Thats a real tough one to call.
