Yeah i find it very odd.

He does it, recovers so quickly that i dont even think the punch hurt him in the first place, and then doesnt let it happen again.

    He is such a Badass!!

I can see how you would say that Marquez could be worse than Floyd for Hatton.

Marquez is a lot more aggressive as a counter puncher, and he loves an exchange too. Hatton would probably get hit a lot more than Floyd hit him.

I will never know who wins between JMM and FMJr at 140. As Floyd didn't bother his ass to make weight and come fight night he looked huge compared to JMM. JMM looked 140 and Floyd looked 154!!!! Floyd still didn't manage to stop him. Anyone who gives Floyd any credit for that fight really needs to give there head a wobble, there are plenty people who do but for JMM and Floyd both at 140 is a completely differant fight.

Marquez might finish him quicker than Mayweather did.

JMM has gone the distance with Pac 3 times (arguably won twice) and a mayweather that came in over the limit, we all know how hatton faired against these guys.

Hatton gonna wish he drunk some ****!!! To the casual British fight fan Hatton was God. He was marketed brilliantly on got a gift of a decision against Urango, basically the Floyd deal was already done, any fighter who fights face first and deploys 90% of his tactics based on his heart is going to be exposed at some stage. Hatton acheived a lot with a little and I do give him credit for that, casuals love him but boxing fans know what he is all about.

Yes I'd slightly favour Floyd but it would have been a much closer fight. Marquez couldn't get going the weight differance in the punch was to much, put them at equals and Marquez can get in close, combo and angle out of range. With the weight differance every shot he received must have felt like he had been hit by a truck!

hatton, khan & haye enjoy the support of patriotic fans - those who get in from the football and want to see an Englishman fight. They will put their hand in their pocket and pay the PPV price because they are fed crap that these fighters are the real deal. Just like there is a massive gap between these fighters and the elite the same gap exists between boxing and casual fans.

I think its mental more than anything else. Its what won me over as a fan definitely.
If the fight was close then I'd say the weight was a factor at the end of the day everything Marquez did mayweather did better. A great fighter would outclass a lesser one regarldess of the weight as they did for years before the time of 17weight divisions and as certain fighters still do. I think marquez bulked up badly for that fight hence his poor performance but he woudl've lost that fight if Floyd has shed a few more pounds in camp IMO.

The fight wasn't close due to the weight. If anyone can make a fight close against a floyd mayweather carrying and extra stone of muscle then crown him the GOAT now! The fact that he didnt stop JMM with all this in his favour shows the weight was a factor.

Marquez couldn't make it close, Mayweather had to much weight which converted to power so he couldn't deploy his game plan. Imagine fighting someone 1 stone heavier than you. not only that they are small guys at 10 stone so the 1 stone advantage is even more signifiacant. I cant agree with anyone who thinks that the weight differance didnt make a differance thats just daft.

Hatton with early success, JMM being backed up and forced to fire fight. As Hatton slows and JMM settles and gets his timing right he starts to stun Hatton. Jolting the bullish attacks of the Mancunian.

By 9th or 10th JMM is in the lead by 2-3 rounds and in the accendancy and floors Hatton and stops him.

Hatton was a very good world champion but against the elite his bulldozing straight line advances get punished. This would be a similar fight to the Diaz fight in terms of tempo and JMM accepting the role of boxer.

Hatton in his early days was a far better boxer then he was as world champion IMO. I know it sounds strange but often fighters find a formula or trainers do and stick with it. Hatton was light on his feet, worked off neat angles and utilized a array of jabs that closed the range well for him. That seemed to stop and instead towards end we spoke of his body strength etc. Bit like Khan but maybe less or maybe more. Not sure but all in all JMM takes him out.
