You know nothing about fighting, dummy. Take your ignorant ass to Sherdog where there are more people who can't recognize a Fragile Glass Mandible when they see it. Wanderlei always had a questionable Chin, just good recovery time. The guy got levelled in a matter of seconds by Vitor, put on his ass by Tito, etc., etc. He had no Chin, none.

Secondly, all the people who picked Wanderlei because "he's more proven" don't know **** about fighting because you don't need to see Bas beat the kind of opponents that Wanderlei did if you understand anything about stand-up technique. Bas' boxing was much crisper, his countering instincts and timing were better, his hands were heavier, his kicks much better, and his Chin was far superior. Wanderlei had a speed advantage in his prime but Bas wasn't slow and he had the boxing chops to neutralize the caveman hook rush.

Bas body kick left hand right hand combos win this. It's that simple

Rutten was strong in the clinch, and if you watch his pancrase fights almost instinctively threw a straight right hand as soon as he was tagged.

Wanderlei's biggest flaw as a striker was people who countered his looping hooks with straights

See Belfort, Mezger and Cro Cop for proof of this. Wanderlei is going to sleep, early. It's not even debatable imo, the evidence is there if you care to look objectively

wand was a hulk in pide took mark hunts punchers and didnt go out all so had a draw with cro cop many would say he would of won if it was for the rules, i think the fights 50-50 cant pick a winner rutten was more crisp but wand could swarm

Bas no doubt. Bigger, stronger, more technical. His granite chin > Wand's chin. He'd beat Wand just as bad as Cro Cop did in CC vs Wand 2.

    Could've gone either way.
As wreckless as Silva is ....His sub defense is excellent. And let's not forget that prime silva defeated the likes of:

Yoshida x 2 (one dimensional but tough as nails)
    Jackson x 2
Sakuraba x 3 (small but excellent opponent)
    Henderson
Kondo (too small yes , but great fighter)
    Arona (even split dec counts)
    Mezger

Past prime Silva defeated the likes of:
    Bisping
    Jardine
    Cung Le.

This. Prime Wand was an animal. Bas is my boy but anyone who thinks this fight is akin to what CC did to him when they fought the second time is really selling Wand short. The problem is its very difficult to judge Bas's MMA career as it only consisted of literally a few fights. The rest of his time was spent in Pancrase. Personally on aggression alone id probably go with Wand. But equally you never got to see Bas's full striking arsenal in Pancrase which makes this fight very difficult to predict. That said striking was his bread and butter. Which would make a match like this even more compelling.

EDIT: didnt realise this was bumped...

Wanderlei by one punch stun and a finish on the ground.

    Wandy is getting sold short.

We're talking about a guy who dueled the likes of Cro Cop rampage etc here. He was a phenomonen at his best.

Bas is more of a pioneer imo but it is a good fight.

This is one of my all time MMA dream fights...Gotta respect everyone's opinion here cuz you guys have prob seen alot more MMA than I have...The early fights of Wanderlai demonstarte what a beast he was...a true killer. I think for Bas to win he would stop stop Silva early by connecting with accurate and straighter power shots through Silva's hooks. ...For Wanderlai, if his aggression and swarming could back Bas up not allowing him to get set and deliver his power...he could decision Rutten. I don't think Rutten ever faced a storm resembling someone like Silva. But then again, who would be the stronger physically?...When in doubt go with the guy who has faced and beaten better comp...Silva by decision in an all time fight.
