I'm really missing this podcast, as it was the thing that taught me a LOT about boxing. The one that Martin "The Brain" Potter does now (One More Round) is kind of a bit rubbish, because his co-host isn't as funny as he thinks he is, and I don't care about what they think of the latest films, music and TV. I download Bunce's Boxing Hour but that's more about news and interviews. There's an American one called In The Corner, but the hosts are a pair of bitter individuals that seem to rant about everything. Can anyone recommend anything else?
I like in the corner, wouldn't call hosts bitter, I think they are funny. You just dont get their sense of humour.
I know Vivek Wallace does one, listened to a few they are good. American based so mostly American fighters and fights. FIGHTHYPE its called.
What i liked about boxing clever was that they just discussed the fights and had a laugh. Most other podcasts seem to be centered around interviews with fighters and trainers and every interview is boring once you've heard a few. It's not the fault of the people making the podcast, but there's only so many times you can hear "im gonna win", "im in great shape" "my fighter is the best in the division" "opponent X is over-rated" etc etc etc. Fair play to Buncey for getting the big names in on his BBC show, but to be honest one fighter tends to blend into another. I really like the podcast he does with Lee Phelps from William Hill though, think that style is much better, debate and analysis rather than news and interviews. Started listening to Kieran Mulvany's podcast and im enjoying it so far, it's a one man job so quite different to most, but i really miss boxing clever. One More Round is pretty good but to be honest i dont watch films or TV really and only get it for the sports. The Olympic edition was absolutely brilliant. Some of the football stuff is decent too but there can be a few ropey mistakes that you dont get with the boxing. Getting it for free so i suppose it's cheeky to complain!
Agree with all the above, it was class and was just coming into it's own when it stopped . I listen to leave it in the ring which has 2 different shows a week, it's good and you get 3 hours worth although the points made about interviews are true of this podcast as well Something sinister about Boxing Truths demise, podcast, website, facebook and Twitter accounts all vanished
