Relax brother so Pac owns Mexican legends...nothing to be ashamed of Morales and MAB will go down as legends they don't need you calling them shot or they had a bad night. The truth is hard to accept but facts are facts....Mexico will continue to prove they produce hard nosed gifted fighters. I've noticed you can be quite biased when it comes to fighters of the Mexican culture.

Quite biased? How? When? Just because I have a MX flag on my avatar doesn't mean I'm biased towards MX fighters. I call it how it is.

yea even though i hate the guy (pac) i cant deny that he has given mexican boxers a run for their money. But thats just part of boxing back then it was chavez who thrilled the nation, now its PAC man and tommorow who knows maybe Gamboa?

There's a few reasons Pac lost to Morales on that night

First of all, and the most important reason, Morales is a great fighter. He was slightly past his best days but really not much, and was motivated by the idea of being able to defeat someone who kicked MAB's ass.

Secondly, Pacquiao was moving up in weight to face Morales at 130. It was Pacquiao's first fight at super featherweight as opposed to Morales' 5th fight at super feather. Pacquiao really didn't take a tuneup to get adjusted to the new weight he went straight in against Morales.

Thirdly, the cut. In the 5th round Pac suffered from a really bad cut due to a headbutt. It was bleeding pretty bad throughout the fight and obviously affected him during the remaining 7 to 8 rounds. If there had been no cut caused by the headbutt it may very well have been a different fight.

And the last reason is JMM. JMM laid out a pretty decent blueprint on how to fight Pacquiao and Morales followed it really well. If Pac vs Morales happens before JMM then Morales might not have had such a good gameplan.

Finally its important to remember that Morales beat Pacquiao 115-113. If just one round goes the other way then the fight is a draw. It was a clear victory in an extremely close fight between two great fighters.

Some of you will claim that i did nothing but post a bunch of excuses. But in the original post he is asking for reasons why Pacquiao lost. Saying that Morales was shot in the rematch and rubbermatch is also an excuse. Sometimes its more an explanation than an excuse.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. Pac is no Chavez, no Pep, no Leaonard and no Robinson. People overrate him because he beat an old Morales and an old Barrera.

he's an exciting fighter without a doubt. He's explosive and charasmatic, and he is very good.

Yup that is very true is isnt Chavez or Leonard on paper. His popularity on the other hand is very high but I believe the fight coming up with JMM will really show us what PAC is capable of, I am rooting for JMM for a great fight

Get your facts straight man. As I recall, it was JMM who avoided a rematch with pacman back in 2005. and as a result he was stripped of his belts.. and interestingly, it prompted ring mag to remove him on the Pound 4 Pound Top Ten list as well..

One thing's for sure though, Pacquiao is definitely, by now, a ring legend in the Philippines. And probably in the same breath with that of MAB and EM in Mexico. Has Marquez equalled or surpassed MAB and EM's feat to be considered a ring legend as well?

Well, I guess, I will let the mexicans be the judge of that.;) :good

Listen you don't need to be defensive I call it how I see it as well. I've read plenty of your post and while they are informative and full of quality I see you tend to be quite defensive of Mexican fighters or American fighters of Mexican heritage. I'm no stalker so I can't copy and paste some of you work on my post but its something I know as a fact. Your biased is not extreme but it is noticable. I mean just look at this thread as a prime example...theres a small hidden agenda, you want others to co-sign your theory thus discrediting Pac accomplishments just enough to satisfy your nationalistic pride. I call it how I see it.:smoke

I'm glad nobody made the gloves excuse yet. Morales beat Paq in the 1st fight because he still had some legs in him. The raheem fight was worthless, it was a bigger stronger fighter running from the smaller one the whole fight. Morales got old overnight. It does happen. Anyone who doesn't notice how weak his legs were by the second fight doesn't know ****. It wasn't the same guy anymore. Did Paq have something to do with this, **** yes.

I think EM just lost to a better fighter the second time around. EM proved he still had his legs by going up 5 pounds and giving Diaz all he could handel.....You don't go 12 rounds in a higher weight class when you don't have legs or if someone just all the sudden got old over night.

I know people are also gonna call me a hater but hey i remember the build up to this fight and reading on many sites that Pac was in his prime and Morales was shot since he had just lost to MAB and had shown signs of slowing down. I was watching it with all Mexican people at the time and none of them gave him a chance because they thought he was done. I was the only one rooting for him. Its funny how now Pac fans say no he was not shot when right before that fight that was the general concensus.
Yes Pac is also a great fighter but To say he beat a prime Morales is an overstatement.
I have respect for Pac even though he demolished Morales my all time favorite fighter but dont diminish Morales by saying he was destroyed in his prime.
