My point exactly.. I'd fight JJ for his title on 24hrs notice. Forget this "warrior mentality" garbage.. The man trash talks his way to the forefront.
:thumbsup Short notice? :rofl the guy is from Team Quest, and started talking **** after his teammate sprained his knee.
People respect him as a fighter....he is not so good as his popularity suggests.....but yeah, he is a real fighter......
Very good wrestler and submission guy but he can't take strikes when they come at him as fast as Silva offloads.
Respect? He talks his way into fights. He uses PEDs. He's disrespectful to any and all other countries and their people. He continuously embarrasses himself by losing after talking a lot of smack. Can he fight, yes, he's one of the top guys in his division. That's where all respect ends.
This Sonnen worship is laughable. Him stepping up had nothing to do with bravery. It was about money and self-promotion which is what he does best. Chris Weidman wanted the fight too, so did plenty of other guys who live hand-to-mouth and will take every opportunity they can to get an extra paycheck from Zuffa and more exposure. It's also clear that Sonnen knew Henderson was injured when it happened three weeks ago and started angling to fight Jones then with his trash talk in the media and on Twitter which came out of nowhere as he'd previously been very complimentary to Jones. It's amazing how easily people buy into Zuffa propaganda. They've managed to convince a lot of fans that what's best for their bottom line has something to do with "manliness" and "honor." If the UFC were operating like a legitimate sporting league instead of the ****ing WWE, they wouldn't have been asking anybody to fight one of the top guys in the sport in meaningless fight on less than a week's notice. When Henderson went down, they should have immediately signed Jones/Machida for the end of the year card in Vegas, scrapped that abomination of card that was leftover for UFC 151 without the main event and apologized to the fans for trying to **** us with that joke of a card in the first place instead of putting the blame on Jones. But rather than trying to set up the best fights for the fans, we're getting another meaningless fight in Jones/Belfort at UFC 152 so that they can milk Jones' name for a few more PPV buys. Zuffa is going to go down in flames with this bull**** Fox deal. They just don't have the talent to meet the demand for all of the shows that they're putting on, and there's probably going to be another UFC 151 type situation next year.
Actually, he should be getting just as much heat if not more than Jones. He was injured so badly that he couldn't train for three ****ing weeks yet he and his camp thought that it was a good idea not to disclose the injury to Zuffa or even bother getting him checked out by a doctor to see if he could still fight in what was supposed to be one of the biggest match ups of the year until a week before the event. That was incredibly unprofessional and idiotic, and it was the root cause of the cluster**** that unfolded in the past few days, yet most people are choosing to ignore it.
Who worships Chael Sonnen? :think Is this true? :conf If this is true, then **** Dan Henderson. Well, **** Dan Henderson in this specific instance, at least. Generally, Dan Henderson is awesome. But this would be extremely unprofessional behaviour, and IMO would take some of the heat off Jones for his decision. Especially if longtime Henderson friend Chael knew about the injury all along, and was training the house down because of it. :think :hat
They are, and they openly admit to it. http://www.mmatorch.com/artman2/publish/UFC_2/article_14222.shtml
Sonnen had to have known. He went to Henderson's camp to help him train for the fight, and the attacks on Jones started right after Henderson was injured.
^This. They have nobody to blame but themselves. They put together a card that would have been so unappealing to fans without the main event that they came to conclusion that it would actually be cheaper for them to eat the costs of cancelling it a week out instead of putting it on. And I'm supposed to be angry only at Jon Jones and his ****ing trainer? GTFO with that bull****. BTW can anybody imagine a boxing promoter attacking a trainer during a press conference to explain the cancellation of card? "Well, we really wanted to put this show on for the fans, but Roger Mayweather screwed us, and he's killing boxing." Dana White needs to go. The way he acted during this whole thing is the last straw for me. I can't listen to his **** anymore.
