If you were Floyd Mayweather, would you give Pac the 50/50?

oh well i dont know who is lying about ppv numbers, just got the numbers from an article. eitherway Mayweather can ask for whatever deal he wants and paquio can refuse it if he wants to... the biggest losers are the fans because we will likely never see this fight happen and even if we do it will be to late.

Yes, although I think he could work some sort of a deal where its not straight 50-50 -

Because if the fight doesn't happen he doesn't make the money anyway. 50% of 100+ million is still huge, why not have the fight over an argument of 5-10%. There could be a potential rematch clause no doubt too, which would bring in extra.

And whatever happened to fighting the best to be the best? Its too late for it now anyway but there is such a thing as pride, legacy, etc.

Both sides should take some responsibility, e.g. Pacquaio over the testing issue, but not having the fight over a few million of potentially the biggest fight ppv wise is history is ridiculous. As it is it may already be too late

    No way.

Mayweather brings more money to the table. Also more prestige, because Pac has arguably lost his last two fights.

Nothing about the fact that Pac is fighter of the decade and joined at the top of the P4P rating in the Ring Magazine?

Yes, there are more important things than who gets the last million or two. It reminds me of a kid getting millions of sweets and crying because he wants more.

To people who voted they wouldn't give Pacquaio 50-50 split, I have a question. If you were Mayweather, would you rather the fight not happen and get nothing on principle/stubbornness, or still get 50million+ from a 50-50 split and actually get the chance to show who is P4P number 1 and give the paying fans what they want?

Mayweather can probably fight any two opponents combined and make as much as or more than a Pacquiao fight. He'd get a higher percentage of money against other opponents with less risk and any fight would still sell very well. So if all he gives a **** about is money then no, why should he fight Pacquiao?

But the fans want the fight. The boxing media wants the fight. The fighters themselves might want the fight just to satisfy their own egos. If neither will budge from 50/50 to make the fight then neither of them want the fight badly enough.

That is what has happened in the past, if they wanted the fight it could have been made, hurdles such as the purse split could have been discussed and overcome. In my opinion, Mayweather didn't want the fight and Pacquaio followed Arum (who didn't want it either) too willingly.

FMJ Ortiz was also only released by GBP, not by HBO, so using the same discount it must have done below 900

It should be something like 55/45 - 52/48. Pac has less leverage right now coming off Bradley, but if he can get Cotto or JMM next, it should help his numbers.

Manny does not touch Floyd on the PPV. Floyd would be stupid to give 50% as he would make pennies more than he made for Cotto, while Manny would more than double his highest payday.
