Geale led the pace and had higher workrate. I'd agree sturm had stronger cleaner shots but Geale constantly had an answer being the ring general.

 

Germans must hate geale right.now. Dethroning 2 of their champs in their own backyard.

 

Sturm couldnt complain if he did get robbed, his career has had a few dubious decisions go his way.

I was watching the match and at round 9 had is 5 rounds to 4 in favour of Geale, with probably one a draw, Round 7 to be sure.

He just had the higher workrate and stuck to the plan.

Sturm looked pretty flat from the 2nd round.

 

I didn't score rounds but thought Geale had the better of the first two-thirds of the fight.

The Sturminator closed up the action late but Geale probably took the last round for a well-deserved win.

It doesn't do the reputation of German boxing any harm for an overseas fighter to win a close decision occasionally.

A few more like this & we might start forgetting about 25-years plus of shaft jobs.

 

Funny how we all cry robberys when it comes to Germany yet we are just as bad if not worse here in Australia with one of the most corrupt boys clubs getting about, Foley v Burrage is a prime example, be it getting robbed on the cards or having a ref asssit you in beating an 8 count, you cant just ignore this and point the fingers elsewhere.

I didnt think it was that much of a close fight, Geale was busy, landing more punches. I thought Geale allowed the head clashing to bother him a bit to much and he must have been concern of the fight being stopped on a cut, he needed to just forget about it and get on with the job, i also felt that Geale was crusing at times and didnt really open up as much as he could have. he did a few things that looked odd, posing a bit etc. in the end the two judges got it right, one of them was cooking the cards for Felix and needs to get the ass, he should never be permited to judge a fight again.

I thought Geale by 2 points. Was pretty close fight. Hope he gets to make a deal with the winner of Martinez - Chavez Jr.

 

Thats what id like to see, forget about this WBO bullsht, go for the winner of Martinez v Chavez Jr and become undisputed champ of the world, it would be bigger than Ben Hur and the media would finally have to take note, last Aussie to do that was KT and look how well he did, sure they have diffrent styles but hard to match that achivment imo. He could then have a few more fights and hang them up and retire on endorsments, write a book or two etc. Worked for KT and he still rakes in the dollars.

 

Gary Shaw has been a godsend for Geale, he gets **** done... He got Geale 2 well earned wins.

The pommy that fought Sturm got the nod against in his last fight Beat Sturm more than Geale did i think but got robbed...

 

From what I've heard Gary hasnt got the stable he once had so he's putting some quality time in for Geale. It so reminds me of Jerry Maguire and now Geale's gonna see the money
