Less leverage and torque, yet he still knocks people out cold. Besides, arm length has nothing to do with compact punching. His looping punches may have a shorter radius on them, but that's not what I mean. The ability to fire shorter punches with less body weight behind them is what I mean by compact. In that respect, Abraham beats both Miranda and Pavlik who are wilder and more accumulative pucnhers respectively. Ponce isn't a compact puncher, you're right, but he throws slow, straight punches that still knock people out; you've got to have serious power to do that.
He might be a better puncher, that may be. But tyson was a better puncher then Foreman, but he didnt hit harder. Thats what this thread is about, who punches harder. Tyson was dangerous similar to abraham cause when they get on the inside they are able to fire off in quicker succession cause of shorter arms. And check out ponce's fight with bautista. He might throw straight punches at times, hes a professional boxer of course he can, but he loves haymakers just like Miranda. [yt]xbdbpq6KMw8[/yt] No way is this "straight punches"
What I'm saying is that Abraham is more devastating despite putting less into his punches. If AA were to throw his whole body into a punch in the way that Miranda does, he'd do some serious damage. Tyson and Formeman are slightly different in that Tyson was more explosive while Foreman was heavier handed and naturally stronger. Abraham isn't explosive yet I still feel he hits harder because he's so strong and has superior technique; in other words, he's a harder hitter. As for Ponce, he is sloppy and slow as I've said, but he stops guys with single punches and at 122 that's rare.
I would say you aren't too far off by saying Berto.. but in terms of knock-out power and straight up head smashing power.. it is Kelly Pavlik.
Some of you people don't have a clue what power is pac-man and pavlik are not the heaviest hitting fighters by a mile, they are hard accumulation punchers.
or abraham connects better because of refined skill, while edison is wild and doesnt creat openings like he should. If abraham were to throw wild punches, it wouldnt work, to slow and short arms, hed get caught. If edison was refined and threw a straight right instead of a haymaker he would of had abraham out of there. Abraham hit miranda with much better shots in the fight and he hurt him at times, by not nearly as much as Miranda's unaccurate wild shots. That fight told me everything I needed to know about who hits harder between the two.
Perhaps. We're both speculating here as AA's never going to fight like Miranda, and Miranda isn't ever going to fight like Abraham. I'm fairly sure we're not going to agree here, though. However, come the end of their career, I'm confident Abraham will have had more success knocking out a higher calibre of fighter. I guess we'll have to wait and see
Wlad Klitschko. Whoever he hits with a clean shot of his right hand will have a big chance of going down.
Lifetime career 1st round KO's Abraham - 0 Miranda - 17 This most have some relevance. All fighters start their careers fighting easy opponents. It's just they way it is. For a guy you are claiming to have P4P #1 power and never have one first round KO is just not realistic...
