nope. El Terrible gets stopped this time. Garcia is getting better each day while he's declining. this is a pointless fight.
fights like this getting made only give people like toney, holyfield hope that they will get their shot as well. can't see morales even being competitive. he managed to have one good fight left in him and it was spent on maidana. even when he won that vacant belt where tkoed the opponent he wasn't exactly looking impressive prior to stopping him. i think one look at morales body and we can tell he's an aging fighter.
I'm not sure that Morales can win, and you certainly have to favor Garcia. But Morales had his moments against both Cano and Garcia. I won't be quick to write Morales off. He gave Garcia a better overall test than Khan did.
i think the surgery did hurt morales... and see him giving garcia a lot better match then before especially if he had marquez new conditioning coach
well morales will always have a better khan even when he's a 100. i also think morales is a lot more intelligent of a fighter. but i still see a stoppage within 8 rounds. morales just doesn't across as the type that will be discouraged and then just try and survive 12 rounds and not punch. i hope i'm wrong because i'd like to see angel garcia crying and throwing the towel.
If Morales is in better shape and can keep Garcia away from the body more in this fight he has a shot at winning imo.
I hope you're wrong about the stoppage. I honestly believe Erik can improve on his last effort. I'm just afraid that Garcia may have a lot more room for improvement, though, so sadly, you could be correct.
I hope so, but even if he excels and takes it to another level we haven't see in his comeback, I still think his stamina issues will be his downfall, even if everything else is flawless. I think Morales needs to bring his A+ game at this stage, and I think he also needs a subpar effort from Garcia, like perhaps if Danny was distracted or overconfident or whatever. Morales, since his return, is "fresher", but he usually starts and finishes fights terribly slow. He often seems to find his groove between rounds 3 and 8, and he appears to lose steam just before the championship rounds. I *do* believe Erik can win, but I think his chances are slim. What I'm hoping for is a brave effort, where even if he comes up short, he does himself proud like he did with Maidana (in a fight I DID have him winning).
I cant see Morales winning this fight. If anything i think Garcia will be more confident and put on a better performance than their first fight. Garcia wont give Morales the same kind of respect he did in their first fight. I see Garcia actually stopping Morales this time round.
He can win because he`s an ATG fighter & Garcia is a million miles away from that BUT due to circumstances like age, size, wear & tear etc. Morales deservedly starts as a big underdog. Personally I think if he can drag up another Maidana type performance (& the fight is scored correctly, which is always a hard ask these days) then I`m sure he beats Garcia. Morales doesn`t need another pac, MAB or Ayala type performance to take care of someone like Danny Garcia, a Maidana type performnce with a little more stamina left in the tank in the last round or two should be more than enough to get the job done, he already has the experience & boxing technique advantage over Garcia. I just hope that Morales does well even if he loses.
