I was at the Los Angeles Sports Arena for that fight. Also watched his fights with Ali, and Folley live

A very underrated win over a 6'4 212lb # 4 rated heavyweight contender for a 45 year old Archie Moore

    kikiblat,

Didn't Alejandro's Manager call for Floyd Patterson, after he KO'd Zora Folley.

After the bout, Pinky George wired Floyd Patterson to come to The Olympic to
fight Alejandro.,,,,,,,,,,,,'We want Floyd right now'.

    May 11, 1961

After Alejandro 12-1-0 (10 KO's) scored a 'major upset' and stopped (KO 7)
    #3 Heavyweight - Zora Folley 53-4-2 (30 KO's).

    Zora , 30 years-old, was ranked #3.

Alejandro at 6' 3 1/2" and 205 lbs., was only 24 1/2. The 'power' was there, but
general boxing skills and defense were not.

After making a few calls this is I founded out on a Patterson fight

Matchmaker George Parnassus offered Patterson $500,000 for a Lavorante fight, but Floyd wanted a million.

Floyd would not accept $250,000 to fight Light-Heavyweight Champion
    Harold Johnson.

Then before Zora Folley lost to Alejandro Lavorante, Floyd turned
    down $350,000 to fight Zora.

Then a crazy $500,000 to fight Alejandro Lavorante.

Floyd was 'hiding out' in Harriman, New York - and would not say
who he would fight next, other than Sonny Liston might be next,
    but for 1962 only.
