Morales, knowing he had the fight in the bag against hall of famer and ATG Manny Pacquiao, said to hell with it and switched his stance to bang with the Filipino knockout artist, playing Manny's game knowing full well he could have handily outboxed him to a decision.

    What a G :smoke

Same reason why we respect him.

No doubt about it, Morales is a true definition of modern-day warrior. Same thing could be said of his contemporaries like Barrera, Marquez, and Pacquiao.

Morales said out of all his rivals he'd invite to his HOF induction party, it'd probably only be Pac :yep

Can't blame him, he probably has a genuine dislike on Barrera, he never had a dance with Marquez, plus Pac made a commercial with him.

Now that's I've mentioned it, Morales looked cool speaking Tagalog.

Crazy chin. This is where the respect comes from. This is what others dont want to understand.

It was an amazing thing to do and I loved it... but I think to be termed the "G'est" thing ever done he'd need to have turned southpaw then actually beat Manny at his own game and won the round... but he didn't, he got beat up and lost the round comprehensively. It was a crazy thing to do and it was brilliant, but essentially he did just get battered for a round and lost it on all cards.

For me, "G'er" moments (I don't even know what "G" means by the way, but can hazard a guess) would be:

    - smaller Pacquiao waving bigger Cotto in with his back on the ropes, which Roach and everyone else thought would be suicide, letting Cotto tee off on him, then spinning off and putting Cotto on the canvas, that was ****ing dynamite

    - Freddie Roach saying to a tired James Toney "you gotta put this guy on his ass" going into the 12th round against Vassily Jirov... 2mins later, Jirov is on the deck after a frantic last stanza

    - a few Roberto Duran moments - attacking and hurting SRL early on in their 1st fight, unleashing a shock and hellacious beatdown on bigger younger Davey Moore, knocking down the much much bigger/heavier Iran Barkley to put the cap on a winning performance

    - Bernard Hopkins staring and trembling at press row after beating the **** out of Kelly Pavlik as a huge underdog

    - Azumah Nelson going to Australia as a sacrificial lamb and demolishing Jeff Fenech

I dunno, as cool as Morales doing that was, I think there have been many more impressive/stylish/emphatic/courageous statements made by guys who were successful in the moment of that statement. JMHO :good

But this was brilliant as well, for sure. It's why I like Morales, will always have respect for his mentality even though he quit in the 3rd Pacquiao fight.
