Nate Campbell was unreal. Juan Diaz should not be underrated because of this.

I thought Diaz' corner did a lousy job with the cut and swelling. Jaun was alright at first, but after a few rounds when they couldn't close the cut or slow the bleeding it seemed to drain Diaz Psychologicaly. Not taking anything from Nate. He did what he had to do and fought a great fight, but I also think Jaun would win a rematch. Jmo.

 

did you notice after the cut started getting bad he stopped making those loud noises while he punched, from that point on i knew he was done.

 

i luv juan diaz and i give him tremendous credit for his heart but u could really see how one dimensional he really is no plan b at all. i think he only threw like 20 jabs the whole fight. sorry nate campbell would not last 12 with pacman he was great last night but no way he takes that many flush shots from the filipino! lastnit u could really see the skill level difference from diaz and pacman.

 

Interesting post Huki. I distinctly remember before the fight you writing how Diaz would steamroll through Diaz and make Campbell quit. Now all of a sudden, Cambell was just on another level last night and could beat anyone at LW. While I agree that Campbell looked better than ever last night, there was a couple of things that bothered me about Diaz.

First off, the guy seemed to make very little adjustments in the fight. Campbell made it known very early that he was going to be the one dominating from the inside. After about 6 rounds it was obvious that Campbell was getting the best of Diaz on the inside. He was blocking and rolling all of Diaz's punches, and murdering him with body shots, uppercuts, and counter rights. Diaz made no real attempt to adjust. He just kept trying to out muscle Campbell on the inside, and kept getting pummeled for his efforts.

Another thing that bothered me was Diaz's lack of defense, and ability to throw or land anything besides a hook. Campbell was tee'ing off on Diaz at will. There were times when he was winding up with haymakers and still landing. Diaz's eye problems did not help the situation, but Campbell was landing at will before that gash opened up. Where were the jabs and straight right hands from Diaz? Diaz does a great job of working the body then coming back up to the head. However, he seems to square himself up alot, and throw a bunch of hooks. Campbell wisely angled himself on the insde. This allowed him to block or roll all of Diaz's punches and exploit Juan's lack of defense.

In the end, Diaz is still a good young fighter. He has quick hands, good stamina, works the body well, and puts his punches together well. However, he needs to improve his defense, expand his offensive arsenal, strengthen his body(his midsection is pretty soft), and learn to come to the ring with a plan B. Otherwise, I see him taking a few more "L"s in the next few years.

 

I am glad he lost to Campbell. Now he can actually go and work on his D. I know he was riding high on his chances for the mega fight million fight with Paq but now he will have to work harder. I really don't think he can beat Paq but many people did. IMO he is only going after Paq for the money not the glory. I hope now everyone over-rating him will come back to their senses.

I see juan Collecting more loses against Big Punchers with decent defense. I pick Ganoy, Katsidis, Casa & Pac over Juan.

 

Really,,,, before you talk **** about Diaz just remember he has never been KO'd, and circumstances out side the ring contributed to his lack of concentration against a fighter that brought his A game.

Diaz is just 24 he has lot of room for improvement , he has just got to learn he can use the same game plan everytime.

 

1) juan diaz is over rated after all. it's all hype! Losing to a 36yr old boxer.
He is not as great as mentioned by his fans. After reading so many threads that juan diaz is this and that... then he loses to 36 yrs old boxer. Old enough to be a young GRAND father..

2) It does not however change the fact that pac will be UNDERDOG when he fights juan diaz. I'm now believe that pac can upsetting JAUN Diaz after all is not actually a trip to the moon.


3) PAC wins over JMM

 

Don't be such a ****ing nuthugging idiot. Age in boxing doesn't ****ing matter. One can be 26 and old in boxing terms. Want to know how?? Maybe that young boxer has had 5 straight wars that just took a demamding and devastating toll on his body and mind. In the other hand you have a 33 year old boxer had never had a war because of his different style of boxing, this boxer though at an advance age is still younger than that 26 year old boxer.
