Advantages of Orthodox style vs. Southpaw?

    What are the advantages and disadvantages of either style?

    Straight right hand is a killer. It's a lot more difficult to block it when you are southpaw.

    Surely a Southpaw has an advantage by frequently fighting Orthodox fighters but Orthodox fighters come across Southpaw far less frequently, so its more of an adjustment?

    just watched yesterday chavez vs hamacho, southpaw didn`t have any advantage at all :) great fight btw, nice to watch

    Straight right is awesome.

    Always had an easier time with southpaws, honestly. Of course, lots of people at my gym were left handed, so I sort of knew how to fight them better than righties. :lol:
