It's not all Ward fans....it's some who are all upset that Joe said that he would've beaten Andre if they ever boxed.

I'm honestly not sure.......but I know it would be Wards toughest fight....and possibly Joe's.....outsetde of Bernard.

No one expected JC to come out and say "Ward would've definitely whoop me". That's silly. Joe was a dominant Champion at 168....Andre has some work to do before he's considered "better than Joe".....he needs to prove it by continuing to improve and win.

It's the same thing. I've seen Slappy Joe's resume posted ad nauseum. It doesn't make a difference. All the hate began for Ward because the Euro's see the writing on the wall. Outside of Lewis' reign at Heavyweight, and maybe Hatton at 140, 168 is the only division the UK can say they dominated for any considerable length of time. Now it appears that Ward will easily surpass anything Cokeslappy did at 168, so now the threatened and butt hurt Euro's want to hate on Ward.

I guess beating Froch's ass with one hand didn't help Ward's popularity much either, but whatever. In Calslappys very own book he said he cared about making money more than fighting tough fights and then that crown jewels bull**** about RJJ and his mythical fear of flying that was cured by a couple of old washed up fighters and 7 figure checks. Lol, like I keep saying on this site, Joe gets plenty of buzz, outside of that you can hear crickets chirping....

its unfair to band together all euro fans under one banner, BP. I'm no fan of the Klits who are european, nor Chisora, but I like Froch and to an extent Joe Cal (though I lost a lot of respect for him when he was going cowardzaghe), also like Hatton but not really a Khan fan. I massivelty respect Ward for him ousting Joe as number one acheiver in SMW.

We are all different in our likes.

Ok, you have point. Not all the Euro's are Cokeslappy ballwasher's, I shouldn't have lumped everyone into one Calslappy loving pot. I'm sure he doesn't have a ton of fans in Spain or Ireland, so again you are right.

I still stand by the fact that Ward will surpass anything Cokeslappy did at 168 and that bothers his butt hurt fans, especially since Ward is American.....

most of the world take that as a given now, all he needs to do is avoid defeat for a few years against some pudwills and veits. I'm pretty sure he wont stoop that low though!

Joe should be proud of being set up as the 2nd best acheiver at SMW, thats still a decent acheivement.

    because...

Joe is British - Ward is American

British love Joe - Americans love Ward

Joe was better - Americans can't accept it!

Its just a shame that Otte happens to be the 3rd best acheiver at SMW, neither Joe nor Andre deserve to have Ottke anywhere near them in the SMW acheivement rankings.

Personally I'd have Eubank, Kessler, Toney, Jones and Froch above Ottke in SMW acheivement, since Ottke really lost his title early on. Something like this -

    1. Joe (currently)
    2. Ward (currently)
    3. Eubank
    4. RJJ (just SMW)
    5. Kessler
    6. Froch
    7. Ottke

(purely acheivement, obviously h2h RJJ would likely beat all these guys).

How is Ottke above Eubank, Collins and Froch?

So what does Ward have to do to become better than Cokeslappy? Wait until his 44th fight to get over his fear of flying and cross the pond to take on some past his prime irrelevant British SMW or two? Maybe he can hang it up now and say look at me I'm unbeaten. Joe being better is highly debatable and probably untrue, but it sounds good coming from a Calslappy fan...

he is in terms of numbers, yes. all those defences.

I disagree that he is in reality above them, see my list, need to add Stevie in there somewhere

hey, you agree with me on something!

Calzaghe fanboys are just upset that Ward totally outclassed Kessler after they all thought it would be a walk over for him. Kessler is Calzaghe's signature win at SMW so naturally these people were bigging him up to be something he is not.

Calzaghe's only other claim to greatness is that despite being dropped and outboxed, he had slightly better stamina and workrate than a 43-year-old middleweight, which just about saw him scrape a SD win.

Ward isn't first on numbers, Calzaghe and Ottke are tied I think. Regardless, Ottke has no business being ranked alongside fighters like Eubank, Froch, Ward, Calzaghe, Collins, Benn

Yeah that list is fair enough

i feel for ward, he is always gonna have to live in the shadow of calzaghe just like larry holmes had to live in the shadow of ali. Just like holmes, ward is fighting in a very weak era for his weight and is lacking in charisma.

If ward wants to step out of joes shadow, he needs to give boone and kessler re-matches and stop fighting in his home town. he also needs to move up weights and beat the best at 175 on foreign soil.
