i know it states the obvious but are we gonna start getting stories now on how many times khan was dropped in sparring etc

 

My mate don't know a great deal about boxing but he said to me that Khan maybe got to confident after the Maidana fight because of the shots he took.

I kinda agree with that, maybe he started to believe his chin was better then it really is.

I think it was more of a macho thing, that the talk about his chin got to him and he wanted to prove he could take a shot. Khan has way too many yes men around him.

 

he still thinks his chin is top notch though, he goes on about the neck shot and how lucky it was against garcia

dude needs to accept and move on, keep thinking he has a good chin and his career will be short

 

Yes that is pretty much how i see it.

It was also about looking good for the USA audiences highlight reel finishes shame for him he was on the recieving end!

Sad thing is we've got trainers telling people to avoid punchers. I mean Danny Garcia digs but he's not Julian Jackson. It's sad that people like Roach want to just pick fights with certain guys. I know it's happened in the past it's not new. Just sad IMO..

RJJ said Roach is just a promoter, i need to watch the actual vid to see what he's going on about but i've lost a lot of respect for him (Roach). Very arrogant guy in past few years IMO..

Roach did a good job rebuilding Khan post Prescott.He did get Khan back his confidence to operate at world level.

The Garcia fight for me Khan was already looking past him he thought Garcia was levels below him.Garcia not a k.o artist by any means but as proved prior decent finisher & good at putting on the pressure.

For Khan instead of sparring novices why did he not use someone like Theophane someone who had recently fought Garcia who would of given him decent sparring & an insight?

 

Plenty of fighters with eggy chins have still had successful careers, and managed to defeat hard hitting opponents.

They just knew their limitations more than Khan did, and fought in a particular way that helped to nullify the opponent's power.

How else can you explain Tommy Morrison pretty much shutting out George Foreman, albeit an old George Foreman.... yet a far superior fighter in practically every department (including chin) Michael Moorer managed to get himself stretched?

Or Wlad dominating Haye?

 

Good shout, but Khan's attitude was all wrong as you say. I mean he didn't take any negatives from the Peterson fight. He's living in the land of delusion..
