and chad dawson would've lost to ademek as well right if their was more time in that fight? dawson's win over adamek is also tainted i guess.
Macklin never got dismantled the way Chavez did throughout the whole fight. He won multiple rounds cleary against Sergio. You clearly did not watch the fight.
Bigtime tainted! Sure Martinez put on a masterclass, but he nearly got stopped, how does one ignore this? It's not like Martinez took a few big hits, he hit the canvas twice.....tainted.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eP_c3EwJ5h8[/ame] last round, worth a rewatch. Actually i though it was cos chavez went toe to toe. But actually he was boxing and moving when he got caught. Was just a clean shot. But i think there could have been another minute and chavez couldn't have finished him off. he'd gassed and went to just one punch at a time by the end
Jr didn't throw enough punches to win. He kept on hiding in his guard and with Sergio's volume punching, Jr has very few instances to throw his own punches.
I'll have to watch the fight again but you're wrong here. Chavez unloaded on Martinez and couldn't keep going because A.) He was tired and B.) Martinez was hitting him back. You're thinking "Chavez could've stopped Martinez" when it's the complete opposite "Chavez couldn't stop Martinez." People are getting excited over Chavez Jr. when it really shows how JCC couldn't beat Martinez when Martinez played the one game that the naturally bigger man could win.
Hell no. Sergio dominated almost the whole 12 and Jr landed a lucky punch. He showed heart, but totally outclassed by Maravilla. Martinez wasn't even landing the bombs he took PWilly out with. Sergio proved Jr doesn't belong anywhere close to his level at least not yet. Maybe he'll take his training more seriously from now on the lazy ass.
The **** you mean "I clearly didn't watch the fight"...which fight, the one Macklin was knocked the **** out in or the one in which Sergio was a thread from being Knocked out?
Sergio was def. in trouble but it wasn't so much a cause from Jr. It was a mistake made by himself and he paid the price. It wasn't like Jr. had been setting anything up. Chavez had a full 12 rounds to convince us he had something up his sleeve. He didn't.
No he wouldn't. By the time the bell went Martinez was recovering, was moving and throwing more that Chavez. Chavez was ****ed, he was throwing one punch at a time that Martinez was taking without any problems.
Man wins 11 of 12 rounds, takes a beating from a bigger guy in the final round but takes it, recovers, and finishes on his feet fighting back, not running or clinging on for dear life. I'd say it speaks more highly of him than just outclassing a slower plodding guy would do.
He got hit by a one very big shot when he was tiring after 11.5 rounds of putting on a masterclass, got wobbled and hit by another few, went down, got up, didn't hold but fought his way out, got hit with another big one or two but stood up to it, was recovering by the end. The 1st 11.5 rounds showed he had the skills and brain, the last half round showed he had the heart imo. The last round was big for Chavez's career also. Had he lost a 12 round shutout he would have came in for stronger criticism: as it is his being dominated for the majority of the fight will be forgotten somewhat and Arum will play the 'he almost beat the p4p num 3-4' card, he will have big fights in the future
