it's a fact. When Sergio gets in with a good pressure fighter he gets caught off balance, tagged and knocked down. That should not happen with a guy who has the rep of being an elite slickster

 

Save your money. NO ****EN WAY anyone fights against Ward runing around the ring with their hands by their side.. Martinez can outclass bums to decent fighters in his weight class but a catch weight fight with Ward still looks like Ward taking Martinez to the cleaners...

Ward put intellegent pressure on guys.. and Martinez will go from being in the kiddle pool on min of the fight to being in the Bermuda Triangle the next with Ward.. Im quite sure he can't handle that..

 

Ward would win every single round. Even if they were naturally the same size, Ward gives him a lesson in inside fighting, clinch fighting, and technically superior outside fighting.

 

Naw c'mon no comienzen Ward is a damn good fighter. Jr got some respect, Sergio some fame, but Ward has been facing monsters compared to Jr and even Maravilla. I don't think Ward destroys Maravilla he'd be in a real fight, but I wouldn't bet anyone against Ward. The kid earned his place. Cleaned out his division something even Floyd or Manny or even Maravilla haven't done. And Ward is barely getting started. He's scary good. Almost Roy Jones Jr in his prime good.

martinez mano'ed up huge tonight. never held against a 185+ lb opponent. even after being knocked down in the 12th gets up and goes toe to toe. I like Ward (now) but he would never fight like that. reminded me alot of how calzaghe fought - no holding, get knocked down get up and go right after your opponent.

the amount of people picking ward at 168 is understandable. At a weight less than 168 ward is an unknown quantity and i think making say 164lb hurts him bad, he knows it so the fight will never happen. Martinez is very fast and fit so if ward were to be as stupid to try and make anything less than 168 then I would bet on martinez.

 

Ward should fight Cena or The Rock next. I think he has what it needs to beat them both.
