However, we dont know how he would have looked otherwise, that is the thing. And that is key. To believe something different based on a performence isnt saying a lot, because we dont know how he would have looked otherwise. Whos to say he wouldnt have been even more gassed had he not been juicing (if he was) To cite examples of when he was younger and carrying less weight, doesnt really hold water with me personally.... he was younger, of course he will be better physically.

But all of that aside. One thing to know as a fan is, juicing doesnt always show the results that the fighters want them to. Different drugs, different techniques, will produce different results.

Take James Toney, nobody would have guess he was juicing for Ruiz (he probably started at least for holyfield if not before then).... you couldnt tell in his performence, or his body in that fight. But he was, and we dont know how he would have performed had he not taken anything.

So going by how someone looks or performs is a bad test for deciding if someone thinks a fighter is juicing or not. I go more by common sense type stuff. If someone has known ped guys in his camps, let alone during a time hes slowing down in his career, probably looking for an edge, and putting on weight? Theres no way I couldnt believe JMM was on the juice for Pac3.

But like you said, to each their own.

Innocent until proven guilty is the name of the game.

I'm suprised too. The obvious fight was Bradley. Manny would get to fight a guy that he clearly beat last time. He doesn't provide much of a threat. He doesn't hit very hard, and there's an obvious angle with the bad decision, plus he gets to win win his belt back.

So much respect from me for taking the much harder fight.

JMM's entire legacy could be better if he stopped thinking about Pacquiao. What if he fights him again and officially loses again when he could be officially beating some good fighters to round out his resume? Marquez could've been the one to derail Khan. Marquez could've been the one to beat how many good 135-140-pounders while he was going after Mayweather and Pacquiao? I mean, don't get me wrong. I have 100% respect in him taking them on and getting the consensus opinion of victory over Pac, but it's like he can't see what he's passing up. It's like playing the lottery instead of getting a job. Only it's a lottery where people pound your face with their fists. ...What the hell am I talking about? I'm very sleepy. I don't know what happened to this comment. I've listened to a lot of Teddy Atlas. My analogies are ****ed. Marquez is like a peanut butter sandwich without the jelly, and it's extra crunchy peanut butter in a jar, but it's a wooden jar instead of plastic. And Pacquiao's like a house with a great attic but the basement's full of black mold and the...:tired

Marquez: I'm coming to KO Pacquiao and take his head off. You can count that I'm not go to run like coward Mosley.

    Come fight night

Manny Steward: Marquez is not taking risk in there, he's not fighting like he wants the win.

I agree. Whilst his legacy is great. I would have favoured him over a sctacked 140 division. He could have destroyed Maidana. Bradley and peterson. They'd all fight him too.
I'd also favour him over a number of welter beltholders.

Yeah, in some ways it is a shame for Marquez and his legacy. In other ways, it is an awesome piece of history. Watching two of the greatest small fighters ever, so evenly matched and with such incredible skills... it is a privilege.
Turn off the commentary, don't watch the post fight results. Just enjoy those two greats, giving it their all.

When I saw espn scroll news that this fight had been made final, it said that this one is a Non-Title fight. If that is indeed the case, will it even be 12 rounds? :think

I'm not surprised that Pac accepted nor am i surprised that Marquez doesnt fight anyone other than Pac, i love JMM but he lives of his performances against Pacquiao and gets overrated cause of it with people ranking him ahead of Morales and Barrera when the other two achieved more in theur careers than JMM in his.

Kind of understandable though, I believe he looks at it like had he been given the nod in the Pac fights he would have likely been the guy considered p4p #1 in Maywethers absence, and while he's never done bad for himself that would have changed things for him quite a bit.

    Ped's don't automatically turn u into a beast.:patsch
They enhance your performance and at 39 and at 140lb the current Marquez under Ped's coach is getting better results than compared to drinking urine!
