    If hes not gonna fight 'the big boys' then he should drop his ****ing title :lol: this isnt daycare where a guy should be able to just sit on a title and fight 140lbers while being a 'champion'. That **** is embarrassing and deserves criticism.

    Im not saying that of him now, but saying if that becomes a strategy of GBP. Thats the type of **** that ruins boxing.

    Fernando Vargas did more in 20 fights and 21 years of age then Canelo has done in over 40 fights and 22 years of age.

    He already gets interviewed alot on Univision, and not to mention on Televisa. He was dating Marisol Garcia, a sports reporter, and has now been hanging out with a famous Mexican actress. He already has a huge casual fan following, Mexican celeb following, and he is slowly picking up the American celebs. The sky is the limit for this guy.

    beat quartey, have a MD vs wright (arguably lost) and beating up legends such as raul marquez and howard clark :blood:lol: you call that better than beating mosley, cintron, lopez, baldomir, ndou and 38 others :lol:

    Canelo really sits on his shots, those are real bombs he throws. But he is on the slow side.
    A more spritely, more defensive minded fighter might have spun out of the ropes more than hosesito and made better use of the ring.
    Id love to see him fight Mayweather. A fantasy fight would be against Pernell Whitaker.

    against Canelos..... lol, vargas's resume shits on canelos.



    (just for the record, vargas has fought better guys in ike and winky then all of the guys canelo has fought combined) and to think otherwise is so completely insane to me for someone on a boxing forum to think that i feel like i just got trolled :lol:

    but if you seriously think that, i wonder who else thinks that, you should make a thread about it and see what most people think :think

    Alvarez clearly has skills, and that combination was beautiful. He really needs to start picking on guys his own size though. I don't care if he's only 22, he has s title, that **** should mean something.

    His fan base won't abandon him if he has a loss. As long as he fights with heart and doesn't quit, his Mexican fans will back him. Take the damn training wheels off GB, let that kid run free (and by free I mean: NOT AGAINST JWWs)

    vargas fought 5 dudes with good records, canelo 10. mosley is a bigger name than any opponent vargas faced until trinidad. ross thompson is a nobody with like 8 losses. luis and raul marquez aren't high class for me, nothing extraodinry special, just like guys like baldomir, lopez, alfonso gomez or ndou, cotto bro or hatton bro (you see the pure number how canelo simply fought more good guys than vargas). winky was green at that time and arguabyl beat vargas. winky at that stage was comparable to cintron who got beat by canelo.

    However, not to be rude, everyone will have their own opinion, but you stating that winky was comparable to cintron shows me theres really no point in you and me directly discussing this, because that opinion is just bat**** insane.

    Im wondering if you are just boxrecing these people and havent actually seen the fights and fighters, if you are trolling me, or what.

    Serious question and i will drop this because everyone has their own opinions and i realise that, but truthfully, have you seen these fights

    Vargas vs Winky
    Vargas vs Ike
    Vargas vs Marqeuz

    Be honest, you watched those fights all the way through? Or are you boxrecing.

    Never really sold on Alvarez, but damn that KD was some vicious ****. I'm still not sold, but i see improvements in his game, but still has to fight a solid LMW contender.
