ALVAREZ Vs. LOPEZ (Disgraceful Fight, Shame on OSCAR and GBP)

    Just watched the fight for the first time and was completely disgusted. Shame on Oscar/GBP for putting Lopez in w/ Canelo and selling him on the Rocky dream. Lopez was nothing more than a sacrificial lamb. Dude was fat w/ love handles in a poor attempt not to be completely outsized in the ring.

    Hope GGG Vs. Canelo gets made so GGG can brutally KO and end the Ginger Express Hype Train for good!

    Felt bad for Lopez but sadly he could've been a more live opponent than Ortiz. To Alvarez credit he did try to face Williams and Kirkland first but that fight with Lopez was very painful to watch and/or hear about.

    I am a Canelo fan, but GBP did not care one bit for Lopez' physical integrity.

    he got good money and everybody counted him vs prtiz and he broke him down. the fight vs canelo wasn't the most logic, but also no the most unlogic fight to be made.

    Agreed, I felt bad for Lopez. You could tell every shot hurt him pretty bad.

    Lopez got paid, earned credibility, exposure and fame in exchange for a beating. Not a bad trade-off...Lopez will be back at a more manageable weight with more experience, money, and fame than before.

    Lopex wrecked Ortiz whom Canelo original wanted and got wrecked in return. I don't see an issue.

    Oscar Delahoya himself made a living knocking out fighters much smaller than himself.
    Its no suprise to me DLH uses the blueprint Bob Arum used to bring him up through fame and become a PPV star.

    Lets see if Canelo has what DLH did'nt and actually beats grade A fighters his own size.

    exactly. no one forced him to do the canelo fight and I guess he was paid as much as never before. also you can't blame golden boy for him not training 100 %. he simply didn't look in the shape of his life, that he should have been into. not saying he wouldve beat canelo than, but things probably would have been easier for him. the fight was good, his name is known, he is on the radar and he can win fights vs good opponents at welterweight and make a solid career.

    Where were these threads for donaire over narvaez and mayweather over Marquez who unlike jlo didn't prove themselves in the middle divisions but simply jumped 2.
