    He'll take it, but he'll get outpointed. Ali can reach Roy with his jab a hell of a lot easier than Roy can reach Ali with his hook. Ali clear UD on points and Roy maybe a little wobbly in the late rounds.

    People really think an amateur Ali at 168, beats a peak Roy Jones...

    Gotta be joking.

    Jones. Grown man against whatever Ali was in the Olympics. 19? 20? At 168?

    Anyone who thinks that the 18 year old, 178lbs Clay who beat Pietrzykowski in 1960 even stands a chance against a peak Roy Jones DKSAB. Have you actually seen Clay fighting in the Olympics? He wasn't the best amateur at the games (Benvenuti was), and was nowhere near the fighter who beat Liston four years later.

    yeah because everybody knows that HW boxers who have been fighting since childhood are all but helpless at 20. Just ask Mike Tyson.

    Ali wasn't as good as he would become, that's true. If he was, then there would be no point to this thread, he would kick the living **** out of RJJ. I believe his size, cast iron chin, superior strength, endless stamina, longer and faster jab and much quicker footwork would be enough for him to take a UD without too much problem. Ali had moments of distraction, but he always found a way to get things done and he wasn't some little baby. He was an Olympic gold medalist who had already toyed with and dismissed some top professional fighters in sparring at that point.

    I like Ali as much as anyone..

    But this kind of proves he is overrated on ESB.

    So many esb posters say Roy was as close to unbeatable as it gets at 168.. But add Ali's name in the equation amateur at 168, and suddenly we have found someone who sparks 168 Roy...

  15. I can't believe 16 people have chosen Jones.:lol::rofl:patsch
